This act was to help eliminate the labor “conditions injuries to the health and efficiency of workers and unfair methods of competitions based on these conditions” (World Enc in). This act is also known as the Federal Wages and Hour Law and this act has been amended multiple times and each time that it is to help bring up the minimum wage or when overtime pay should kick in. This act is used even today and changes every time the minimum wage will change or someone sees a discrepancies in the act. A lot of the good that are imported in to the United States are either involving child labor or is forced labor. The U.s Trade Legislation has helped out a lot and has included multiple standard for labor and children also. Many nations today around the world has set laws that can help the children when they are being employed by employers. One standard that is set is that the employers can’t hire anyone younger than 14 or 15 and can’t have a child that is younger than 18 be working in dangerous occupations. Today the international workers’ rights are very important to a lot of people and is important in the economy today. A committee would soon be formed that would proceed laws and standard for children around the world, to help keep them physically, emotional and mentally safe. This committee would soon be known as the International Labor Organization. The International Labor Organization was generally known for the roles in coming up and producing labor standards that would help out internationally. This group was formed in 1919 and has adopted more than 184 conventions that they implemented so far to this day.
