Introduction
The topic to be discussed, is the use of risk assessments in cases when children are involved (child welfare). Assuring the wellbeing of these children falls within the job description of their Case Manager/Social Worker. This task can be helped or impeded by the strategies and assessments that are implemented as ways meant to effectively address the issues. While I understand that agencies have their own agendas and etc. the collaboration with other agencies should also include the same risk assessments, or an explanation of why those were deemed the most important. As mention in the articles, the factors are all subject to the workers background or the agency’s, the risk assessments all vary, and the amount of things to process in an allotted time leave room for errors. These errors are what leads to news stories of children dying due to lack of action or proper assessment. Which is obviously a critical
