stay in the business. How do I tell if a child I know is being trafficked?
In this we will tell you what to look for when you suspect a child is being trafficked. If they are not free to come and go as they wish. If they are paid very little or nothing/in bad debt. Work too many hours at weird time in the day. Scared, anxious, stressed, paranoid. Avoid eye contact. Scared of law enforcement, gets really jumpy when police are brought up. Lacks health care, shows sign of abuse, appears malnutritioned. No person possessions. Not in charge of their own money. Can't speak for themselves/ repeats back a script they have learned. When you suspect that someone is a victim in child trafficking, the first thing you should do is call the police. The next thing is make sure you are right by watching if they are nervous when Police are brought up, if they have signs of abuse. Also try to get them to speak for themselves. This shows what you should look for in a child if you suspect they are being trafficked. What happens when we are too late to save them?
When a child doesn't get saved before they enter trafficking they will end up abused horrifically. Almost all of the children trafficked in the us are thrown into prostitution or the sex trade, and example of this would be Rebecca's story. She said "I was prostituted from when I was 14 until I was 27." The only reason she got out was because her pimp was very violent and he beat her until she ended up in the hospital. From there she just got on a train and left after all of those years of torture. When Rebecca was fourteen her "friend" took her to a club where 50 men took turns gang raping her for six hours while her "friend" accepted money for it. The pimps stay in it because the make about 200,000 dollars per child every year, and they usually take 5-6 children each year. Children that are trafficked are almost always entered into the sex trade, more than 80%. Why has trafficking passed the illegal sale of arms?
Human trafficking is more appealing than illegally selling drugs.
It will soon pass the illegal sale of drugs. One of the reason more people are looking to trafficking more than sale of illegal goods, is because being a pimp pays a lot of money. Being a pimp pays about 200,000$ per child, a pimp usually has 5-6 children per year, using those stats the pimp should make over a million dollars a year. Also the children are being arrested for prostitution, not you, so you have a better chance of not getting caught. If your prostitute gets caught you aren't there, you had nothing to do with it. Children that are trafficked usually come from horrible homes. Where they were abused, raped, or didn't have enough money for their necessities. The pimps get them by driving up in their nice ferraris and offer them a really good job, or a really good home with all the money they need.A pimp will usually become a pimp over a gun or drug trafficker because the money is way better, also because of their job security. They pull children in by offering these paradises to them. This shows why Human Trafficking has gone up over the illegal sale of arms. Also how child are trapped into the world of prostitution. This shows tells all about child
trafficking.
We talked about how to spot someone in a trafficking situation, what to do if you think they are being trafficked, and how they respond. Also we showed a story of a girl who was taken and had to service almost 50 men a night. We also found out why pimps become pimps over illegal gun movers. We wondered how to spot a child being trafficked, what they do when they are trafficked, and why traffickers stay in the business. How can we stop this in the future?
