Child Trauma Case Study

SW intern called to the client on 9/21 at 3:56 to continue the prior conversation. SW intern asked the client about the child well-being, schooling, and daily routines. The client reported that "the child is doing pretty good in school". Mom says she noticed the child good progress in her school. The client mentioned that the child continues exhibiting anger and relational problems. Client states that the child has trouble engaging in the physical confrontation with her sister. Client says "as the parent the situations are tough for me because I have to adjust the changes and the life daily demands". Client report as conditions getting frustrating. SW validated client's statement of the child ongoing emotional struggle as a common reaction to trauma.
SW inquired client if considering any resources in the community for the child.The client reported about the preparation to take the child to Safe Connections to get therapeutic services. According to the client, the new session at Safe Connection will begin next week. Client states that most agencies she contacted for scheduling had no availabilities. However, she managed to get hold of scheduling appointment with Safe Connections. SW praised client ongoing effort of dealing with the changes and demands in the family. SW mentioned to the client about Children Advocacy Center (CAC) the trauma response resource in the community. The client showed interest to know more about CAC. SW intern briefly explained about programs and services available at CAC. SW intern provided contact of the CAC. SW intern asked the client if she has anything else that the SW intern could help with. Client thanked and the conversation ended at 4:05
