Childcare Observation Essay

Childcare also known as a daycare are programs that provide supervision among children and their everyday needs. Daycare programs are administered by licensed adults during the day, while the legal guardians or parents work on a regular basis. Step Ahead Learning Center, is a school that serves children from ages three months up to five years old. I choose this particular program to study because working at Renaissance Club Sport as a Kid’s Club Attendant; I have met families that have their children enrolled at Step Ahead Learning Center. Thus, the closeness of location where I am employed and where the school is located is only a couple streets away. The location of the school is very convenient for parents or guardians that struggle with transportation. Because, this school is nearly a few minutes away from the Pleasant Hill BART Station. Although, the parking in the school is minimized; however, there are a few side street open parking that allows you to park for two hours max around the area. The school is open all year round which gives families the opportunity to enroll their child. Except, during public holidays and a few additional days; which is also published on their updated monthly calendar. Step Ahead Learning Center provides different types of programs for all children. The childcare program is offered year round, while the school year program is an ongoing process from September until June. Over the summer, Step Ahead Learning Center also provides appropriate programs that are planned around summer themes. Also, gymnastics, dance, ballet, and etc. are other optional programs children can take and improve on their abilities all around. Furthermore, Step Ahead Learning Center invites and encourages the parents or guardians to become involve with their child’s activities. With this said, parents are able to see in their own eyes the development and growth of their child. This also gives the parents an awareness that their child is in good hands and are well taken care of while being away from
