Childhood Obesity is a common health complication in the United States that affects over 25% of the 3.4 million population. Sadness of seeing a child between the ages 6-19 that is obese can affect everyone’s lifestyles around them. People that are overweight, many times, blame the food industries and even blame others by being overweight. Many children are bullied because of the way they look due to obesity. They want to make a change to themselves but they are always afraid to do so because they are afraid that others will make fun of them for attempting to better themselves.

Carol Ogden from Centers of Disease Control wrote an article about why children are having serious health problems. Obese children and adolescents may experience immediate health consequences and may be at risk for weight-related health problems in adulthood.Obese children and teens have been found to have risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD), including high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and abnormal glucose tolerance. In a population-based sample of 5- to 17-year-olds, almost 60% of overweight children had at least one CVD risk factor while 25 percent of overweight children had two or more CVD risk factors.” To witness children as young as 5 years old go through the same obesity problems as an adult is a sad thing to witness to
