A.Introduction or Background of the Study
Up until now we encounter some containers that seems hard to open. Most manufacturers of medicines and household items created these containers so that children would avoid ingesting these substances without adult nor pediatricians’advice or supervision. These are Childproof containers. Some children mistake some medicines into candy which results into poisoning. I want to conduct this study to lower the risks of children’s poison intake.
B. Background of the Study
I conducted a study about childproof containers and if they are really childproof. I wanted to study this topic because of the following reasons;
) To lower the percentage of children ingesting poisons or other medications that are not safe for them.
) To improve the safety of these children in their homes.
The specific questions that my study answered are the following;
) How effective are childproof containers?
) Can children easily defeat the safety mechanisms on them?
) How long does it take to learn how to defeat the safety mechanism?
I want to find out how useful and effective the childproof containers are.
The variables tested in my study are the following;
-Assorted Childproof containers
-Children participating in the study (ages 6 and below)-Their different results.
C.Hypothesis
I think they will have different results. Each bottle has its own difficulty. I also think their results maybe varied because some of them must’ve observed their elders. It could be varied on how their brain works because some kids learn things easily and some don’t. This would determine the effectiveness of the container because those things shouldn’t be easy to learn for
