The stereotypes of young children are innocent; they are also viewed as naïve sometimes. Although they can be influenced by social media constantly like television, games and websites, some adults still believe that they have not been “contaminated”.
Young children who observe their surroundings and learn from it are like a sponge. Even though people point out that violence is influencing young children through media a lot, this article argues media has its own benefits if used correctly.
For instance, the idea of “helping” can be planted in children’s mind by watching a movie character who saved a dog; experiment showed that these children who watched the movie are more likely to help dogs.
I think this is a great example to show that children are like canvas; they can be easily painted with whatever “colors” around them. I wonder how long will the effects last and the methods to make bad habits fade away.
