Children’s Future Is Depend on Their Mothers
Recently I read an article. It was about one of the most successful Korean women.
Her name is YUSUN JUNG and she is a professor of George Mason University in the U.S.A. She is recognized as a great person because even though she has a cerebral palsy, she became a professor in the U.S.A. I was very impressed by her but what was more interesting to me was the role of her mother. Her mother was always encouraging and supporting her. Even she was very proud of her daughter.
Thanks to her mother, Professor Jung has a very positive mind and never complains about her disability.
As the mother of a nine- year -old son, I really respect her mother and think about how important mother’s role is. Since I came to the States, I often think about what kind of mom I am. To be honest, I was a rather pushy mom and more cared about his grades than his feelings like my mom. I grew up thinking I would never make my child feel the same way as I did and decided that I always love him or her no matter what he or she would get good grades or not. However, I made the same mistakes to my son as my mom did to me.
From now on, I will promise myself I will never hurt my son emotionally.
I strongly believe that mothers are the most influential people to their children who can make their children happy and positive.
I am still struggling with my son in many ways but I will do my best to make him happy and well- rounded person.
