China-a Threat to India
China-A Threat to India There has been a lot of talk in the past few months about the border conflicts between India and China. It has been all over the news and there have been a lot of discussion about whether China has actually become a threat to other Asian countries, especially India as it happens to be its neighboring country or will the second most powerful economy is not a threat and everything that has been said on news is just a bunch of trash. Well before drawing any conclusions I would like to put some light on some past history between the two nations. The very first difference between the two nations is the governments. China is a communist country while India is a democratic nation. In India even a common man has the power to oppose a government and its policies but in China it is totally opposite. A policeman can beat a common man to death if he opposes the principles and decisions of the country so even if China declares war on India the people can’t do anything about it while in India it won’t happen which actually makes China a threat. Also, around the world there has been a lot of talk about China being plotting about world dominance by expanding and developing its military strength. If that speculation is true then India is really under a big threat. As everyone knows China military strength is enormous and India is nothing compared to China. They also have Ballistic Missiles and more nuclear power than India. So India can be under a great threat if they are trying to achieve dominance. Also they have been gaining ports in the Indian Ocean and becoming close to Pakistan and have signed many treaties with Pakistan. As we go in history we all know about the Great Sino-Indian war of 1962. At the end of the war China occupied 26 km of India border. The US and UN provided military assistance to India still India did lost the war. But China lost its image among world countries because of its military behavior. Since then there has

China and Japan face many primary issues. Many years ago China and Japan become rivals. In the late 1800’s Japan and China went into a major war, calling this the Nanjing Massacre. In 1937 Japanese soldiers came into China and murdered, raped, and looted many of China’s people. One of their main issues is the economy. Before the 1980’s Japan was the giant of Asia, since than China has overpowered Japan, including taking over the United States as a major trading partner. Another issue is the oil pipeline off in the large oil fields in eastern Siberia. This issue took place in 2004 where Japan was bidding for their side to control the oil field and China was bidding for their side. Eventually Japan won.…

    China as a Super Power

In the past year, The Economist, reputable English based magazine company, weighs in on the growing might of China’s military. The threat of military dominance by China is low, but it shouldn’t be pushed aside as its growing strength should cause some concern. [Chinas rise in its military spending over the past years is purely for defense as they have stated. However, this seemingly growing rise in the military, particularly its land bases and navy is likely more than what they have stressed as a peaceful front, and is causing concern amongst the world. China is steadily increasing their defense budget at around 12% a year, which if they stay on this course, will end up in them becoming the biggest military spender in only 20 years. The effect of this is the quiet increase in defense budgeting by its neighbors, South Korea, India, Japan, and even Australia all of which are bumping up their navies. The ultimate goal of this rise is to become known as a major power with possibility of playing nicely in world politics and issues. China has had an increase in the thousands of land based cruise missiles and their investment into modern day fighter jets, nuclear powered submarines, and cyber and space weapons to “blind” America. Chinas interest in its research and development costs are endless. The focus of these “anti- access/area denial” defense strategies is to deter America from intervening in the case of a formal secession of Taiwan from mainland China. The nation states that these are all part of its own defense, but according to its tactical Doctrines, if they have to fire first they will. This possibility of an Asian arm race is scary, however, Chinas People Liberation Army (PLA), hasn’t seen combat experience in over 30 years. The land bases and submarines are formidable, but only in the case if the opposing nation was sitting right off the coast. The current focus of Chinas expanding…

Although for centuries, the Himalayas served as a natural barrier between the Tibetan plateau and the Indian subcontinent, it was also a space of exchange for constant flow of knowledge, traditions and goods transiting up and down from faraway places in Central Asia, China or Mongolia to the entire subcontinent. But the drawing of borders based on modern nation state model so as to define territorial limits of every state has led clashes, conflicts and even war in international relation. The recent Chinese incursion in Ladakh adds another flash point to this debate.…

China on the other hand, being a superpower in its own region has managed to match the American economy and has the potential to leave it behind in the near future. China is strong economically and militarily and is an apparent threat to the United States and India alike. Pakistan being an old ally of China, is taking every advantage of the “friendship” to improve its security, economic and energy problems. In other words, Pakistan provides a platform to China in the heart of South Asia which is a strategic gain for the latter. The construction of Gwadar Port, Pakistan Navy bases in the Makran Coast, the construction of different dams, construction of communication lines and the “increased” Chinese presence in Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan is a prick to the United States and subsequently India. All these developments would help expand the Chinese effect across the…
