“Choose a Job You Love, and You Will Never Have to Work a Day in Your Life” - Confucius-
Have you ever heard of this famous sentence by Confucius: “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”? I have been wondering whether it applies to current trends of choosing job among the youth nowadays or not.

Presently, there’s a sad fact that many young people have no idea about what they are going to do in the future. Doing what they want has never been much of a factor. It’s more like what they’re expected to do.The first criteria for picking a position is whether this job is hot or not, how about the salary…? But I was wondering what the standard is to categorize that this job is humble and that job is noble. Based on education levels? Earned money? or popularity?

Almost our parents take a normal job. It is an obvious fact that we need to accept. To be respective. Not to be shameful. If everyone is successful businessman, who will be sanitation worker . If every person is software engineer, who will work on the factory floor. Most of us are normal person. But it cannot prevent us from growing up everyday. Because there is always the highest level for each normal work.
We need another outlook. There is no trivial dream. We have studied to do what we love the best way so that we can earn money and popularity as much as possible, worthily and proudly!

To sum up, the goal which we need to pursue is doing the job we love. It’s the secret of success and happiness . So let’s find out your greatest dream, it’s is lying on the bottom of your heart, as a volcano waiting for being

In the new world of making a name for yourself, one of the most important characteristics of human culture has begun to be lost. Before the 20th century, life was simple and universal. Men “brought home the bacon” while women stayed at home washing dishes, cleaning the house, raising children, and cooking meals. Most married a stayed married. Divorce was highly frowned upon and therefore never happened.…

All jobs are just handed to the people as best fit as possible. An example of this is when Jonas is given the job as the receiver of memory. “Jonas was identified as a possible receiver many years ago. There were no dreams of uncertainty (…) with his hands firmly on Jonas’s shoulders as he looked at him” (62). In Jonas’s society no jobs require getting paid but everyone gets what they need if they work, so everyone works. Have you ever heard of a person lousing their job and saying they lost everything? That is because jobs are one of the most important things in life to have for most people. If jobs are that easy to get, I defiantly think haven a job given to you is a great characteristic of a…

Some people think that learning is not important to them, but others disagree because it is providing people tools and knowledge to learn based on whatever they are doing and what they have been taught from. However, we learn because it some things that it is in our DNA, which is requiring us to learn, but working is another way for people to learn by getting “hand on” experience. Amitai Etzioni wrote a short story called, “Working at McDonald’s.” As we know most parents want their kids to start working during high school in order to learn responsibility. Etzioni talks about how it is not educational for a teen to start working while in high school, because most teens will work part time at some fast food joint. He states, “But in fact, these jobs undermine school attendance and involvement, impart few skills that will be useful in later life, and simultaneously skew the values of teenagers- especially their ideas about the worth of a dollar.” He is highly against teens working, because many of them stop focusing on school and he has found results to where a lot of teens who work through high school have become high school dropouts. At the end of Etzioni’s essay he points out how teen employment is not educational as most parents think it is. His opinion is that it would better for you to put your child in a sport and let them be active that way, because a sport can also me educational.…

According to Tim Elmore, “Life as a child involved signing up for everything, no margins, no solitude, no time for reflection, and little time to just… be a kid.” Parents sign their kids up for a variety of sports and activities, whether the kids want to do them or not. As a result, the child's schedule becomes completely filled, and they do not get the chance to make any decisions for themselves. Kids don’t have time for things that they want to do, including just being a kid. This then leads to young adults being scared of adulthood and unprepared to take on the challenges because they never actually got the privilege to be a kid. Furthermore, Derek Thompson notes that young adults are missing out on huge opportunities, such as starting a family or getting a well paying job, because of the poor economic conditions. Additionally, Thompson records that 49% of 18-34 year olds have accepted a job that they did not necessarily desire, in order to pay their bills. Their jobs are very demanding, require much of their time, and pay very…

The children today are experiencing lots from these jobs at a young age. Children even get to learn how to take care of themselves and other people around them. These children may get to learn all these things but, they shouldn’t have to worry about the stressful things about working till they’re more mature and older enough to understand it all. In poor countries families aren’t able to provide for themselves, but if the children get to work at a young age they can help provide for their families and help feed themselves. Children helping out with their families is very good because they get to show their love for them, but children don’t need to pay for their food and homes the parents should be taking that responsibility to provide for their family. Having children helping out with their families and also getting a young education from this working experience is a good thing to have in your life. Children shouldn’t have to take the responsibility of working at such a young age. They should be living their childhood right and not be stuck doing work 24/7. You only get to live your childhood once, so live it to the…

In today’s era, one could quiet observe that the most famous statement is, “The future lies in the hands of the youth”. But, had this question not entered into our minds—“How can this be possible?” Living in a seemingly unprogressive nation, we, the youth, could help make it possible by starting to consider first our very own selves instead of blaming it all to the authorities. Take responsibility for your life. Experiment with different things and you’ll know your passion. Define your passion and you’ll figure out your potentials. Figure out your potentials and you’ll shape your future. Everything chimes in together-- your train of thoughts and burning desires would absolutely bring you to unlimited surprises.…
