“Death of an Innocent” I personally think Chris McCandless did die in a senseless way. I do have sympathy for him because he wasn’t expecting to die the way he did and he didn’t die on purpose. I could understand why people in the passage thought differently of McCandless, but if they knew how he felt and why he did the things he did, I think people would understand him more. I think McCandless died in a senseless way because he didn’t have any idea that he would die in the Denali National Park. He thought he was well prepared because he had lived off land for quite some time now in his life and thought he had all the materials needed. He was an intelligent young man and it was always his dream to live off the land in the Denali National Park. He thought he could lie with the few supplies he had, but turns out he couldn’t, and didn’t. I think if people knew McCandless an knew what was going through his mind, they wouldnt have thought of him as a bum or someone who wanted to test the land and try to live in unlivable land. He was experienced and had traveled to many different parts of the world. It was always his dream to go to that national park.
