Chris Tabor's Coaching Style
The new Cleveland Browns era begins with the hiring of head coach Hue Jackson. The new coach has plenty of work ahead of him including finalizing his coaching staff. As expected, Jackson wants to hand pick his own staff, but luckily for Chris Tabor, he gets to stick around.
With a franchise that is in disarray, Tabor, the Special Teams Coordinator had been one of very few consistencies. He survived his third coaching change since becoming a Cleveland Brown.
For those who don't know Tabor, after spending 3 yrs with the Chicago Bears, he was brought to Cleveland by then head coach Pat Shurmur in 2011.
What Chris has brought to Cleveland has gone unnoticed to most, but it's time to shed light on his accomplishments. Since 2011, Cleveland leads the NFL in punt return average (11.3), tied 5th in kickoff return average against (21.7), tied 6th in punt return touchdowns (4) and won six AFC Special Teams Player of the Week awards.

Additionally, punter Andy Lee set single season franchise records with 46.71 yard punt average and a 40.14 yard net punt average.
Tabor has forged some Pro Bowlers like Cleveland favorites Josh Cribbs and Phil ‘The Drill’ Dawson. A third Brown made the Pro Bowl under Tabor’s tutelage and that is Johnson Bademosi, who leads NFL in special teams tackles since 2012 with 61.
With all this in consideration, one would suggest that retaining Chris Tabor was not just a subtle accomplishment, but a beneficial one too. The special teams coordinator may not be a glamorous job, but someone has to do it. Cleveland Browns fans should be glad that Chris Tabor is the man for that job.

    Bengals

When you think of the Cincinnati Bengals you probably think of all the arrests, busts, and bad managing that have taken place in the 90's. I'm telling you the Bengals are on the rise and have changed the ways of their troubled past back to the winning ways of the 80’s. The 1990's and early 2000's were compiled with poor drafts and miss judgment of character in the players they chose, but the past few years the Bengals have proven draft after draft they are stepping up their drafting game. The Bengals faced heavy criticism for filling the locker room with troubled young players. The Bengals were the centerpiece for jokes about players getting arrested and in trouble. For example Chris Henry the wide receiver that they drafted in the 3rd round, knowing that he had a troubled past that even led up to his college days at West Virginia. They unfortunately carried over to the NFL and he got into many bad situations with drug abuse and other situations. Henry did begin to finally turn his life around but sadly his life was cut short in an accident when he fell out of the bed of a moving truck. Henry was only 26. Since then the Bengals have really done a good job in the draft getting good players that have a clean background. Although the Bengals still have taken chances on players that are questionable Marvin Lewis has taken them under his wing and has mentored them and had really helped them turn their lives around, in example Adam Jones and Vontez Burfict. In doing so they spend very low round draft picks on them. Burfict is a perfect example of this. The Start of this kid’s senior season he was a lock for the first round. Burfict did not take the game seriously though. In essence he selfdestructed. Getting into trouble with the law, and in games he got called for many unnecessary roughness calls and cost his team plays and yards. By the time the draft rolled around his draft stock had…

When interviewing Sal Sorrentino, I liked his personality and his motivation want to change things for the better. However, I wasn't impressed with his overenthusiastic and sloppy way of initiating change. For a position of this magnitude, especially replacing someone like me, who has built the necessary relationships and connections to gather details from others before making final decisions. Sal leaps before he looks and that can be a definite issue within our organization. I did enjoy his questions the most of any of the candidates, as I felt he was genuinely interested in our organization and its goals and environment.…

While playing with the Rams, during a pre-season game, there was a missed snap where the center fumbled the ball. After that play was over one of the coaches started screaming at Kurt and blaming him for the fumble. During this time he took all of the heat and did not blame anyone else showing the coaches that he has what it takes to be a great quarterback while gaining the trust of his teammates and building the bond. When this tactic was displayed it was a very effective hard tactic in the point that his teammates knew that no matter what he would be there to back them, and no matter how hard anyone tried to change that it wasn’t going to…
