Sophie Lichtas

Reflection of Christianity

It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver. This shows us it is more important to be healthy, and keep healthy and therefore live longer than to spend a short lifetime earning money, because money will not make your life any longer. In Hinduism wealth does not belong to one person, but to the whole family, it is also passed down in generations, so the more money you earn the better a life style your grandchildren will lead. Hindus are expected to give away wealth that they do not need to the poor, especially in countries such as India where begging is a common activity. Aii. Explain why there is a need for World Development. In certain countries of the world there is definitely a need for world development. People in countries, which face 'absolute poverty' means that they do not even own the basic amenities to sustain life.
Countries like this are mainly found in the Southern part of the
World, and are in desperate need for development. These countries can sometimes be called "Third World" countries. 'Relative poverty' means that people in a certain area of a country are poorer than those living around them. The Northern part of the World mainly consists of highly developed countries with a better standard of living. Overall the population of the more developed countries is less than of the undeveloped ones. Developing countries can also be known as "First
World" countries. Even though not all countries in the North are rich, this may mainly be due to the fact that they have suffered through harsh political events or wars. These countries are known as "Second
World" countries. You can easily tell how developed a country is by looking at how

“It seems only natural that happiness should flow from having more money. Even if they don’t admit it, people still behave as though it were true. More money means you can have what you want and do what you want.” (Dean 2008). Wealth and possessions do not equal happiness because no matter how much money and gems you have you can not buy feelings, but only comfort, also if you are working hard for more money you are experiencing more stress and negative emotions.…

For example, having money is something that we all desire. Grudem clarifies that “while the love of money is evil, money itself is not inherently good or evil. Money is nothing more than a medium of exchange. Money provides people the opportunity to purchase something in God 's creation. In order to accurately and biblically take hold of this opportunity, one must begin with the foundation that nothing is owned unconditionally, but is simply given out by a benevolent God. Once realizing nothing is totally owned, only given by God, one sees that God is incomprehensibly wealthy and that having money is not…

Our society should not base a life's value on money. Money is not a factor in determining the value of a human life. You give value to your life by your own goals and accomplishments. As a society, we should learn to value someone by who they are, and not what they work in or how much money they make. Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, was not happy besides all his fortune (Hamlet, Page 23). He couldn't find a value to his life. Hamlet's mother however, saw Hamlet's life more valueable than Hamlet…

On a general basis, wealth is an accumulation of physical entities which hold great importance to us. These entities are objects such as money, land, jewelries, gold, precious stones and so much more. It is also a means were by people grade themselves or attain superiority over others. Wealth comes with power, prestige, honor, and integrity. Wealth is a very important tool in a society and that is the very means of survival in today’s world. In Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theory, he speaks of “survival of the fittest”. In today’s modern world when fittest is mentioned it actually means wisest, more intelligent or brilliant or clever. Even the strongest in a society cannot attain power without wealth. What an irony but that is the situation of the world and now people are misusing this privilege. The unreasonable use of this opportunity is what is causing inequality in a society.…

“Wealth is the ability to fully experience life” (Thoreau). This statement is especially true in the USA, where there are massive differences in the lives of those with a little, those with some, the infamous “middle class, and those with a lot. These differences are reflected in all areas of a person’s life, from their education to their lifespan and health care. The American middle class’s physical health, mental health, and the differences in health care between the upper middle class and the lower middle class show how money affects an American’s well-being.…

Most peoples lives are based on their morals and beliefs. People believe money is the root of all evil, allowing things of lesser value make them feel they are living the good life. An example of this would be when people purchase an apartment and being just as content as if they would have gotten a big spacious house. However, some also believe wealth is needed to effectively live a good life when you are seeking happiness through things that make you individually well off. An example of this would be buying the newest car rather than a cheaper car. Pursuing happiness through morals can sometimes be dreadful.…

Another important thing that make us happy would be health. Have you noticed that people without health or wealth always wish for better health, however people with health only wish for health? In fact, what is the use of a very expensive house or car or success in carrier if you are not healthy? Only when someone has become serious ill do people realize the true importance of their health and the health of their friends and family. Thus, it stands to reason that health leads to happiness much more than wealth. Therefore, health is more important than wealth.…
