Christmas Pine Cone Candles
Christmas is the perfect time to try your hand at making crafts. Whether it’s a gift for a family member or just a decoration around your house, Christmas crafts bring delight for everyone involved. One simple and very popular craft is candle making. Here are a few steps that will show you how to make a wonderful and aromatic pinecone candle:
In order to complete this craft, you will need the following materials: paraffin wax candlewick handful of small pinecones cinnamon/nutmeg cylindrical candle mold cooking pot candle dye (optional)
Once you have assembled your materials, you can begin melting the wax in the cooking pot. Make sure to keep the heat on low, and simply let the pot remain on the heat until all the wax is melted. Next, you can add the candle dye if

However, these spices should be added in moderation, because their fragrance is strong and should not be overpowering when the candle is lit.
At this point, you are almost ready to begin pouring the wax. First though, you must prepare the wick before the wax is poured. In order to get the wick ready, dip it a few times into the wax to provide an equal surface for smoother burning later on. Then the wick must be affixed to a small piece of wood or a pencil that will lie across the top of the candle mold. Ensure that the wick is taut by tying one end to the wooden piece and taping the other end down to the bottom of the mold.
It is now time to pour the candle wax. Using extreme caution, smoothly pour only a portion of the wax into the cylindrical mold. You can then drop a few little pinecones into the mold to turn the candle into a lovely Christmas decoration. To finish the candle, continue this process of pouring wax and dropping in pinecones until the mold is almost full. The only thing left to do is simply sit back and wait for the candle to

There were a numerous amount of observations and patterns in the data throughout the candle lab. The hypothesis was if the amount of candles inside the jar increases by an increment of one, then the weight of water in the jar will increase as well. The hypothesis was proven to be true, since for every candle added there was about 33 grams of water more. Every time the jar was placed over the candles, there would always be bubbles around the rim, also as more candles were used, the jar became cloudier and the bottom of the jar became more charred. The bottom of the jar also got hot, and after the jar was taken off the candles there would be grey smoke. The flame got larger as more candles were added, and the smell remained constant.…

Next, weigh the butane lighter to as close to .001g. Then, submerge the 100mL graduated cylinder completely under the water allowing it to fill completely full, making sure all air bubbles are out of the cylinder. Then, turn the cylinder upside down, keeping the end of the cylinder under water (allowing the water to stay in the cylinder). Next, place the plastic tube on the end of the lighter, and the other end of the tube should be placed up inside the cylinder. Press the lighter so that the Butane goes through the tube and into the cylinder. This should force the water out, and allow the cylinder to fill full of Butane. Fill the cylinder to 80mL of Butane, and release the lighter. Record the volume of Butane in cylinder. Make sure and allow all of the Butane to escape tube before pulling tube out of cylinder. Remove the tube from the cylinder.…

Your candles will come out a naturally milky white, but if you’d like to add a little color, you can use a non-toxic crayon or candle color block. I typically use 1/8 inch of red crayon per 16 fl. oz. to get a soft pastel color. Want a brighter color? Use a little bit more, only adding color a bit at a time. Like food coloring, a small amount goes a long way. Simply melt your color along with your wax flakes. Warning: The color will look a lot brighter in the melted mixture but will turn a milky color as it cools.…

Before you even buy a tree, pause to consider whether you want a live, cut, or an artificial Christmas tree. You have decided you don't want to deal with a living or cut tree, and an artificial tree is not for you, so what do you do? Go for an alternative tree instead of the traditional ones. The best thing is that you can bring your own creativity into play and even make one yourself from materials you have at home. Maybe the most fun part of getting a Christmas tree is decorating it. There are many different ways of decorating a tree from a very traditional green and red color scheme and traditional ornaments, to very contemporary color schemes. This chapter takes place the next night, while all of the men are off at the whorehouse spending their weeks' pay except for the feeble threesome of Crooks, Candy and Lennie. The setting is the "little shed that leaned off the wall of the barn" that makes up Crooks' quarters. Steinbeck gives us a glimpse at the quiet, neat, lonesome life of the black stable buck. While Crooks is belittled and ordered around in the ranch at large, in his bunk he is sovereign; none of the other workers impede upon his living space.…

There are many disorders that Marla may have. The one I found to be the most common that she may have is Major depression disorder. Based on the little information given about Marla it is stated that she has had trouble sleeping, feeling jumpy, and unable to concentrate. All of these things have affected Marla’s life and her work. I think out of those symptoms she would most likely fall under the category of Major depression disorder. Many people develop depression at some point and time in their lives. But when it comes to major depression disorder it is a more severe form of depression that can affect your life in many ways. For Marla it seems like it has already started affected her work life. Since Marla is unable to get enough sleep, and concentrate on her work.…
