Christmas Time
Christmas time Christmas time is the most wonderful time of the year. Why might I say this you ask, well isn’t it obvious? It’s because the snow is falling, it’s cheerful, and people just seem to be happier during the Christmas season. There are people giving, Christmas carols, cookies, wonderful food, and all of your family and friends get together for Christmas. It’s the lights, sparkling and twinkling, making everything bright and beautiful, especially at night when they light up the darkness and we just stare in awe with smiles on our faces. Or maybe it’s the music that makes Christmas time so special. The beautiful Christmas carols that never seem to grow old or stale. We never forget the words and they thrill us and touch our hearts and still will for many more years to come. Maybe it’s the gift giving yeah that’s it! What fun it is to choose the perfect gift for those we love. What a joy to give and a pleasure to receive. My favorite part about Christmas time is making cookies and putting up the Christmas tree with my little cousins Kennedy, Kamryn, and Korbin. The person that most of these things point to is Jesus, the most important person of all. We like the lights because it reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world, our light that shines through the darkness. We give gifts because it reminds us of the greatest gift of all, the forgiveness of sin and eternal life! During winter you can just feel Christmas approaching, when you walk outside and breathe in the crisp cold air. When you see that first snow the joy starts to well inside of you. You can see it on your face when Christmas time comes around. To me these are many of the things that make Christmas time special to me and probably too many others also.

Christmas is a holiday celebrated around the world. Children wait all night the evening before for santa to place their gifts beneath the tree. Excitement rages from them the morning of December twenty-fifth; pretty wrapping paper and shiny bows glisten under the christmas tree lights while the bulbs upon it sparkle so elegantly. However, Christmas is not about all these aspects that it is displayed as. Christmas has more meaning than pretty gifts and how many gifts each child has under the tree. This holiday is above the amount of money one kid gets while the next gets so little. Though some see Christmas as a materialistic holiday, it has far more depth than so little meaning. The Holiday of Christmas contrasts greatly with celebrations…

Christmas is one of the most incredible times of the year; snow on the ground, a warm fire in the living room, and twinkly lights around every turn. When I was young, I loved Christmas. Toys and treats had me in a daze for almost a week straight. I was a typical kid, and my focus during any holiday was, “What do I get? Who brought me presents?”. I never realized the true meaning of why we have holidays, other than presents, until I was seventeen years old. As I’ve started to see my family less and my co-workers more, I understand that the true meaning of holidays in general, is to spend time with our loved ones. Taking my new found wisdom into account, my opinion of the “best holiday of the year” has changed from Christmas to Thanksgiving. My views, including favorite holiday, have changed because my focus on what’s important has matured.…

For many people. the months December through February create a vision of happiness and holiday cheer. The thought of all the warm Christmas cookies you and your mom would make, or the pine sweet smell of your just brought home tree, you, already prepared with your basket of ornaments, dusty from being in your basement all year long. The hope of a new year, of new beginnings, of fresh snow, and coming inside from the cold to sit by the burning fire with your favorite book. Thinking of these months can stir up a great deal of memories, and for many, these memories are wonderful. For myself, they always have been. December was a symbol of happiness for me. My family would travel to come to St. Louis, we would routinely follow Christmas traditions from years before, and love was widely spread. However, last December morphed this tremendous enjoyment I got out of these winter months.…

I have listed two good reasons why I like Christmas above all holidays, but the main reason actually is because of the family. See most people have family all over the place so when the holiday comes around they all meet up and they all get full of joy for being able to finally see them again. Another reason why spending time with the family is the best is because you get to hear all of those great stories they tell. These are the main reasons why I like…

Christmas as a child for me was very fun. I got many presents from Santa as well as many from relatives. Christmas was probably my favorite holiday of the year, to me it meant that if I was good enough Santa would bring me presents. Most of the time I was very good and never got into trouble. In my family when you go from childhood to adulthood it becomes a big deal. For starters you open presents with the adults. You also don’t have to worry about leaving with the other kids while the adults open presents. Seeing that I do not have kids I am sort of at a mid point of whether or not to look forward to this holiday.…

The season of love and giving hit the shopping malls on Black Friday; the stores fill with the latest gifts and the bargain shoppers begin the hunt for the perfect Christmas gift. Americans across the country mark this season, senselessly “buying” love for one another, while simultaneously degrading the very spirit of the holiday season: love. Thus, as the bells toll for the Christmas cheer, the deepening greed of our culture begins with the commercialization of the holiday.…

I lay awake in bed hoping to hear the sound of hooves on my roof. I desperately hoped that Santa had gotten my letter and was going to bring me every present I had asked for under my Christmas tree. I tossed and turned all night. Sleep was impossible. I kept waiting for the sun to come up so that I could go in and wake my parents. At the first peak of a sun ray I ran into my parent’s room to wake them up and beg them to please get up so we could go and see what Santa left for us. When my brother and I were given the green light we stormed down the stairs to see what gifts and goodies awaited us on this wonderful Christmas morning. The anticipation and excitement that leads up to Christmas Eve and Christmas morning is magical. Not all good things last forever. My whole opinion and outlook changed when one year I overheard a comment on the bus...Santa is NOT real. These four words completely devastated me! It took away that pure joy and excitement that may never be replaced for the rest of my life.…
