If I were to sum up what I have learned from this course it would be focused on Faith and a new understanding of the Bible. Faith is not just part of religion but every aspect of our everyday lives, and is fascinatingly carried through the Bible from the beginning to the end. It began with the Creation, and continued throughout the Fall, Redemption, and Consummation of Christ. It is the foundation of the Christian perspective and what leads God’s people to salvation and good works. Our modern world is so corrosive to faith that Jesus Christ asked, "When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8). He is there to give his people the gift of faith and to help them to grow in living faith that will last forever.…

“[Miracles] would not…answer any useful purpose.” said Thomas Paine, author of “Common Sense.” In Paine’s mind, miracles were out of the question because Christ would be degrading Himself and nature would have to change its natural order to accommodate Jesus. Perhaps, Paine could be considered a bit of a snob. Jesus walked the earth long before Paine’s time and had to use example from that time period to help people understand much like how Paine had to examples from the war in his paper to stir people to action. Christ used miracles in the culture He was in to help people trust him.…

19). Mary’s submission to her male God was telling of the ways in which scripture is used for the ideological manipulation of women by men. For example, her choice of scripture; “the Lord gave, the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord”, especially compared to her son’s choice of “the Lord has chastened me some, yet he hath not given me over to death” (Ibid, pg. 23). Mary’s choice of scripture is her accepting her disposability in the eyes of God, but Joseph’s choice shows his value under the eyes of…

The scientific method is a tool that enables a person to seek out new knowledge, or correct and integrate new knowledge. It is composed of eight individual steps: which start out with defining a question, gathering information and resources, form an explanatory hypothesis, test the hypothesis by performing an experiment and collecting data in a reproducible manner, analyze the data, interpret the data and draw conclusions that serve as a starting point for new hypothesis, publish results, and ends with a retest. The steps can be grouped into four different essential elements: operation, observation, model, and utility function.…

It is fair for Elie Wiesel to question God’s goodness because the horrible events during the Holocaust led many Jews to understandably question God and their doubt faith in him. Elie Wiesel, one of those many Jews expressed his doubt in God in his work Night. Wiesel does an amazing job of describing the horrendous incidents that took place during the Holocaust. Elie goes from being very religious to being very angry and doubtful because of the things he endures. Some of the experiences that caused Elie’s faith in God to falter were the witnessing of the babies getting thrown into the fire when he first arrived Auschwitz and the death of the young pipel. These occurrences show the reader how Elie’s faith is slowly diminishing throughout the novel.…
