Christopher Columbus And Native Americans In The Film When Worlds Collide
The film “ When Worlds Collide” it starts when news starts to spread that Christopher Columbus has found the new world, in 1493. At this point culture began to collide. The cultures of the european and indigenous people started to mix. People involved in these mixing are called mestizos or mixed races individual . These two cultures had many different beliefs for example the indigenous people prioritized their connection with nature and the europeans prioritized their relationship with science. The value the europeans gained from the americans was the rich red dye made from Cochineal bugs which at one point was more valuable than gold. Another one of their achievements was being able to genetically engineer maize from a plant called Teosinte.
