Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, Navigator, Colonizer, and citizen of the Republic of Genoa. Christophers full name is Christopher Columbo he was born in 1451. Before Christopher dies he went on four voyages and married to Filipa Moniz Perestrelo in 1479. Christopher died in Valladolid, Spain on May 20, 1506. Christopher columbus had 3 ships names. Santa Maria, Pinta and Nina. Christopher Columbus discovered the “New World” of the America’s in 1492.
Christopher Columbus (1451-1506) was an Italian explorer hired by Spain to reach Asia in 1491. Instead he discovered a continent, and in four voyages explored the West Indies from 1492 to 1502. His discovery resulted in Europeans exploring and settling
the Americas, and Columbus became both a symbol of the new world. Also an iconic hero for the age of exploration. If Columbus had not discovered the New World, the process of European discovery might have been very different. Rather than Standing as a symbol of inexorable forces, Columbus is better seen as a representative of the spirit of inquiry, Christian religious zeal, and the notable achievements of Western Civilization.
The groups of native people incorrectly labeled “Indians”by Columbus were actually a diverse mix of different tribes which spanned the islands of the Greater and Lesser Antilles. The people Columbus encountered are known as the Tainos. The different groups that lived in the bahamas at the time of his arrival were the Eastern, Western, and Classic Tainos; the Island-Caribs; and a small group called the Guanahatabeyes. According to most recent findings, the natives were spread out among the large and small islands of the Caribbean, with the Tainos dominating the landscape. The Santa Maria was the biggest ship on columbus’s voyages.
I really liked the information on Christopher columbus. He was a cool explorer and did some very interesting voyages. It would also be kinda cool to see some of the stuff that columbus found and land that he was on.
