Christopher Columbus's Discovery

Christopher Columbus was a famous explorer, navigator, and Italian. He is credited to opening up the Americas to European colonization. In my report I will touch the topics on Christopher Columbus’s life, his exploration to the Americas, and later voyages. Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in Italy. His dad was a weaver. He was born in Genoa,Italy. As a teen he worked on a ship for merchants. In 1470 Columbus was on a ship, later pirates attacked the boat. The boat sank on the portuguese shore, but he floated to Lisbon shore. He stayed in Lisbon and decided to study mathematics, astronomy, navigation, and cartography. He married Filipa Moniz Perestrelo and they had 3 children. He had 3 brothers and 1 sister. He died on May 20, 1506.
