Aims: The aims of this research have been derived from both 1) a lack of current clinical evidence for the use of PRP (although the authors acknowledge some in vitro studies have been performed showing positive results) and 2) an increase in use of PRP in the clinical setting. More specifically the authors aim to perform a high quality double blind, block randomized, placebo controlled trial to compare improvements in pain and functional outcome of patients who receive PRP injection against the use of placebo
