Summary of findings: Each of the churches has a different way to run the prayer ministry. At West Ridge the ministry is set up like a web blog. And within the blog you can look back at previous prayer blogs as they call it. By the church doing this action it show people that this is a church that is moving into the next generation of technology. At Pantego Bible church they too have their prayer requests online, but their link is not quit as up to date as West ridge. This is a good idea as well because it opens them up to be able to add the blog option later if the Lord leads the church that way. Grace Community church has an open prayer ministry on Monday’s. I found a link that would provide a calendar of when they were open for prayer. At West Ridge church I found strategies for both evangelism and discipleship. The evangelism strategy included local missions, overseas missions, and there is also a link to start a church plant. The discipleship opportunities include multiple locations for services, worship times vary, and classes and events for every age group. At Pantego Bible church they too have a strategy for both evangelism and discipleship. The website included several local mission opportunities, and missions to Africa. This church holds classes for every person of every age. Grace Community was a little more detailed in what they provided. As far as evangelism they have a class called Grace Evangelism which helps teach how to present the gospel. The website also listed the following outreach programs outreach ministries, international outreach, short term ministries, and local outreach. The discipleship strategy is for everyone, but the youth one caught my eye. They have a children’s ministry, 3 different youth ministries; xchange for grades 7-8, oneighty for 9-12, and crossroads for college and young adults. All three churches had a small group ministry, but they were differently set up. West Ridge church had a registration form, a link for a person to use to find a group near them, and also a link to tell you how to start a small group. The church provided a frequently asked question section. This church believes that small groups are where community starts to develop. Pantego Bible church also has small groups, which includes community groups, home groups, singles, men, care, compassion ministries, and missions. Grace Community church also has small groups, but the church calls them fellowship groups. They include cornerstones for the young married and families, faith builders for all ages, Grace Life for all ages, sojourners no noted age limit, but this group focuses on the Old Testament, mainstream for all ages, joint heirs for all ages, Spanish ministries for the Spanish in the community, the guild for single adults, and doulos for young adults. West Ridge Church was found to exhibit a strong Bible basis. They provided scriptures throughout the mission statement of the church. When I was looking for Christian Education program I could only find details on the children at West Ridge. Also with West Ridge I could not find an accountability program. I believe that the priority focus of the West Ridge church is on the small groups, which help the church grow. At Pantego Bible church the Bible was also exhibited throughout the mission statement, and this church does seem to be a church with a strong Bible basis. This church had an education program that was located under ministry. Some of the classes presented included women’s, children, and youth ministries. However, I did not find a link on accountability programs. The priority of this church is more focused on missions instead of small groups. Grace Community church seems to have a strong Bible Base. I did find scripture throughout the mission statement of the church, and this church does have discipleship classes listed for all ages in the church. I did not find any particular link to an accountability program, but in the description of the small groups accountability is the main focus. The priorities of this church is to equip the people to do the work that they have been called to do through the small groups.

Describe what you have learned from these church websites and your readings that will help you in ministry now and in the future: Some of the things that I have learned from these websites include not every church focuses on the same thing to get the word of God into the world. Some focus on equipping, some focus on going, and some focus on both. By evaluating the websites has shown me that ministry is not about what I can do it is about what does God want me to do with this ministry or that ministry? By doing this evaluation I also learned that it is not a bad thing to step back and be taught once in awhile. If we get too wrapped up in any ministry that God has placed us in and do not get feed then our ministry can become useless. I never want to be like that again. For the future ministry that I know God is preparing me for I will make sure that God stays at the front of it and I will find someone that I can confined in so if it starts to become hard I have someone to say stop for a minute and breathe, reevaluate, where did you get off track, and do not do that again. I believe good support of godly people is the key to spiritual growth in every aspect of our lives.

The motto for the United Methodist Church is “Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the World.” Michele told me that they do not require her to be Methodist to work for them. She said, “They are very open to others.” She told me that they are very Reverent and sing songs together and pray before meetings. (She informed me that the songs they sing are not the same ones used by the Catholic Church.) The people who are allowed to perform mass are called Clergy or Reverend. They can be male or female, married or single, with or without children. I had a chance to meet Reverend Deborah Thompson, Missions Coordinator who told me that the Religion is very strong into the idea of Missions. They go to help people in any way they can, by raising money, or even by cleaning homes damaged by natural disasters such as in Haiti and to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. The Sun Prairie office was designated in 2008 by the federal government to administer funding to the victims of very bad flooding in the State of Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Conference has adopted…
