One of the first examples in the story is when her dad remarries. The stepmom says “What does the goodfor-nothing thing want in the parlor?” ;and they took away her fine clothes, and gave her an old frock to put on, and laughed at her and turned her into the kitchen.(Grimm) This is controversial because that is not how you should treat family and it is a bad example for children. However earlier in the story it explained that they are not nice people “This new wife had two daughters of her own: they were fair in face but foul at heart, and it was now a sorry time for the poor little girl.”(Grimm) So actually it is a good example because it tells kids that it is bad. Kids won’t read into the story and see bad things like adults do; they look at the basic elements of the story which are all important for children to know. In my opinion Cinderella is the best fairytale of all time and will be enjoyed and teach kids good lessons for many years to
