Cinderella Feature Article
Anastasia and I are dreading meeting our new sister. “I bet she is ugly,” said Anastasia. When our mother and stepfather nervosity introduced us hoping that we get along, we were astounded at how ugly she was. “She is as ugly as that rat we saw earlier.” and she was right very right.
After our step-father had died Cinderella had not been the same. “Maybe we should give her more chores to make her feel better, you know get her mind off it.” I told my sister Anastasia it was a great idea and we put the plan into action. We made Cinderella clean the dishes, clean the clothes, and sweep every room. We thought we were doing the right thing, apparently we were not.
“Since last week she has been crying a lot less,” said my sister. But it was

My sister and I were so excited we almost went there without getting dressed in the clothes Cinderella made, washed, dried and folded. Cinderella did not get an invite, “Maybe if we make fun of her, she will forget her father for a second.”
And it worked! She ran up into her room and I think she was crying because of us, not her father’s death. A day after the ball, a man came to our house and told us that he need us to try on a shoe, because the princes will marry whoever the shoe fits. “I think the girl who the prince liked at the ball was wearing that shoe.” My sister whispered. I tried it on and so did my sister. It did not fit, but then Cinderella came down and asked to try it on I said that was outrageous because she was home doing chores when the ball was going on. When she tried the shoe on and it fit I was flabbergasted.
I was so sad and mad that she gets to marry the prince. I was trying to do the right thing and help her get over her dead father, and on top of that, last night I think she stole a pumpkin, two dogs and a old dusty dress. I hate Cinderella now and will always forever hate her. All I was trying to do was get her mind off her dead father, but now she banishes me from her kingdom. Wow what a good

In the movie "Cinderella," Cinderella is a maid to an evil stepmother and two very heartless and obnoxious stepsisters. The only reason that Cinderella still puts up with their orders is an example of the Behavioral perspective. The Behavioral Perspective puts emphasis on learning by experience with rewards and punishments. She knows that if she does not do the chores, she will be punished or thrown out of the household. She does not have anywhere to go because her mother and father have passed away. Because Cinderella is a genuinely kind human being who wishes to please, she usually does not stick up for herself against the others in the household. She is used to taking on the brunt of the housework and doesn't complain of her unfair and lowly position as maid of her own house.…

Drawing on her many years of psychology training and client therapy, Jacqueline Schectman, director of training for the Jung Institute of Boston, makes a comparison between the four archetypes in Cinderella and the stages of grief families and children she treats in therapy. In her article, she describes a step-mother who, rather than hostile and unfeeling, seems to present a structure and truth to an abandoned little girl; step-sisters who are themselves reeling from unacknowledged grief; and a father who has withdrawn into his own pain resulting from the loss of his wife.…

Once again, it is up to her fairy godmother and the prince to rescue her from a life of cruelty. Marriage is her ultimate goal, as it is seemingly her only chance at escape. The movie revolves around beauty and impressing others. Cinderella could have easily gone to the ball in her everyday clothes, but instead she knew that she needed to wear something fancy to impress the men she might meet. Additionally, the prince falls in love with her before they even speak, contributing even more to the idea that beauty is the most important. Despite the fact that she disobeys her step-mother’s orders to not go to the ball, Cinderella still manages to embody innocence and remain submissive to those around her (Baker-Sperry…

First of all, the description given of Cinderella is much more detailed and specific than the description given of Little Red Riding Hood. Readers of Cinderella’s story know that her mother died when she was very young, that her father remarried a woman who doesn’t care much for Cinderella, and that she now has two wicked step-sisters, Anastasia and Drizella, who make the concept of a blended family little more than a nightmare for Cinderella. The reader immediately feels a sense of sympathy for Cinderella. Some readers may have lost a parent themselves, and many have experienced “step” relationships that were less than ideal, to say the least. They may also feel that, like Cinderella, they too have to do all the work in their home, whether it’s washing the dishes or scrubbing a soot-encrusted fireplace. In contrast, readers know very little about Little Red Riding Hood, except that her mother sews, as evidenced by the brightly colored cloak she wears as her trademark, and that her grandmother lives in the woods. Frankly, that’s not much of a description, and certainly not one that allows a reader to feel any kind of connection to her.…

At the beginning of the story, Cinderella is the beloved daughter of a wealthy man, leading a happy, normal life. However, as all heroic journeys begin, according to Campbell, so must this one, with "A blunder-apparently the merest chance-reveals an unsuspected world, and the individual is drawn into a relationship with forces that are not rightly understood" (Campbell 42). For Cinderella, the blunder is her father 's untimely death that leaves her under the control of her evil stepmother and stepsisters who, jealous of her beauty, keep her confined to the estate and treat her as a servant.…

Cinderella’s story is undoubtedly the most popular fairy tale all over the world. Her fairy tale is one of the best read and emotion filled story that we all enjoyed as young and adults. In Elizabeth Pantajja’s analysis, Cinderella’s story still continues to evoke emotions but not as a love story but a contradiction of what we some of us believe. Pantajja chose Cinderella’s story to enlighten the readers that being good and piety are not the reason for Cinderella’s envious fairy tale. The author’s criticism and forthright analysis through her use of pathos, ethos, and logos made the readers doubt Cinderella’s character and question the real reason behind her marrying the prince. Pantajja claims that Cinderella isn’t really motherless and helpless as the old fairy tale wanted the readers to believe. Her mother played a vital role in her success in rising to a position of power and influence. (Pantajja, 1993, p. 644)…
