CISY 404 INFORMATION SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGEMENT

INTRODUCTION
This course introduces students to the concepts currently being used in the emerging professional field of Project Management. Project Management is designed to build and expand the foundation of knowledge needed by successful managers.
This course has the following as prerequisites: CISY 101 Introduction to Information systems and CISY 222 Systems Analysis and Design.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the course is to understand the concepts of project planning and organization, budgeting and control, and project life cycles.
During the course, the student will be expected to:
1. Define and explain project management and project leadership.
2. Understand and apply the sequential steps of the project management framework.
3. Understand the importance and function of project management and apply the project process of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing the project.
4. Define the roles of the project manager, the project team member and effectively communicate with the project team, clients and customer (sponsor).
5. Apply knowledge and skills to manage the project
