The authors, once again, tore apart the known knowledge of citation, and rebuilt it with more clarity. The issue itself reminded me of an archeologist exploring ruins in search of treasure. The reminder is based on the pitfalls, booby traps, and misleading ways in treasure hunting. The authors do something very similar in their explanation of citation. The issue teaches the importance of getting citations correct, and the many ways citations can be cited incorrectly. The authors go through three topics about citation: summary, paraphrase, and quotation. The topics are all unique, with their own strengths and weaknesses. However, the authors break down each one, to explain the correct way, and demonstrate the incorrect way the look of the citation. The other part of issue five is research. The authors inform the reader the proper way to look up, find legitimate sources. The authors also explain how to detect bias, or not an illegitimate …show more content…
Most of the assignments did not need citation. The ones needing citation, my citations are poor. The citations demonstrate a real lack of understanding as well as knowledge on how to properly cite information. Citation will be something needing to continually work on to improve.
Irony
The issues also provided a sense of irony. The irony is, I could have used these issues prior to paper one’s due date. The information provided gave me real clarity in the construction of a solid argument, and proper citation. Therefore, paper one would have had a better argument built within it, and the citations would have been stronger within paper one.
Argument, Citation in Conclusion Issues four and five were good chapters. The issues continue to follow the graphic novel style which creates a refreshed lesson. The style breaks up the boring nature of the lessons discussed, which makes the lessons easier to read and digest. The issues gave me pause and knowledge to better construct arguments from my previous homework assignments. The issues also gave the clarity of proper citation technique, although this knowledge would have been useful for paper
