Citrix: Workplace of the Future: A Global Market Research Report
Indeed, technology has given us vast advantages and benefits in making our lives more convenient. It is evident that its use not only allowed us to develop our way of living but also to improve lapses and shortcomings in our systems and productivity. In various fields, technology has aided in making work easier and more efficient, compared to the manual practices that are susceptible to a lot of technical and human errors as well as time-consuming and hassle work. One example of this technological escapade in the business field is the utilization and transitional conversion of organizations around the globe to mobile work styles. In this age of technological progress, it is imperative that business organizations continually seek to cultivate their ways to advance productivity and standing in the market. By adapting to mobile work styles, it is clear that they have not only improved their local functions, but also their international operations. Those domestic businesses that have not yet embarked towards adjusting to some form of international operations reasons such as reducing costs, improving supply chain, providing better goods and services, understanding markets, learning to improve operations, attracting and retaining global talent, brought about by the utilization of mobile work styles would attract them to modify their strategies and functions so as to give an edge to the normal operations of their organization.

Technology plays a great part in the social implications of our modern world. Americans can hardly go a day without using the new technology and inventions. Science fiction is a thing of the past. Now we have cell phones, flat-screen T.V.’s, portable computers, video-games, the web, CT scans, antilock brakes, and more. If you compare a 1985 model car to its counterpart of today, you can see the improved and added features such as, power doors and windows, dual airbags, better fuel efficient engines, built in CD and GPS, air conditioner, and fewer defects (Nye, 2002). The modern economy today is knowledge based, globalized, entrepreneurial, IT-driven, and innovation-based (Atkinson, 2010). The forever changing forces, such as economic climate, fast paced, and challenging times is what the workplace is now. The office design has become smaller and simpler. The process of workplace technology has grown immensely. The reduction of the computer in size, weight and mobility requires less space and yet it stores more data, reducing the amount of paper being used (London Councils 2006). As more of the work…
