City and Countryside
It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay.

Nowadays, children who grow up in the countryside try to move out to the city, while some in the city want to move back to the countryside. The motivation of moving one’s home is to go for better living. In my opinion, it is better for children to grow up in a big city. Simply, there are two reasons. First, children who live in a big city are more likely to get better education. Second, it is easier to get connected to contemporary society.
There are more good schools in a big city and it affords children better education. Children study in a school which has better facilities and faculty. The government spends more expenses on school in a big city than they spends on school in the countryside, because they have to pay other construction expenses in the countryside for it might have difficulties to get good facilities. Take myself as an example, I go to college in a big city. I can do my research in school library and do homework in computer lab. Teachers can show us lots of interesting things through media, which increase our interest in learning. Students can learn more from getting easy access to good facilities.
In addition, living in a big city is easier to get children connected to the society. In a big city, people are more likely to get a good job, while in the countryside people have fewer good job offers. That’s why people who used to live in the countryside want to move out to the city. Moreover, in a big city, it is much more convenient to buy groceries and other things. While in the countryside, people might drive to the town to see a big market. We can rarely see big markets in the countryside. Living in a big city open up our eyes. In conclusion, children who live in big cities can see more new things, which provides them more connection with society. In a big city, they can get better education and live in a more convenient environment.

There are some differences between life in small town and life in the big city. Firstly, the environment in a small town is better than in the big city. In the big city, it is noisier than small city where it is usually quiet and peaceful. Secondly, big city has a very high number of all kinds of vehicles in the street, which often causes severe traffic jam. On the other hand, the street in a small town is much less crowded. Thirdly, life in a small town is more exciting than life in the big city, mostly due to the difference in size of the two societies. People in small town are much closer to each other. They have a closer relationship among themselves than those living in a big city. There are also significant differences in the lifestyle between the two areas. The big city is probably more recreation facilities than small town. It has many places for enjoyment and plays, yet you can’t find these large places for entertainment in a small city. However, small town has the advantages that you can’t find it in the big city. The smallest city surrounded by natural exciting green farms and gardens. Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature of urban and rural life style and the effect it has on people is the most important difference between living in the city and living in the country. I feel fortunate to have grown up in the rural area. I would never trade my memories of playing in the creek, riding four wheelers, or climbing trees all within a short walk from my house. Health, education, and transportation are three major concerns that need to be considered. While city life can bring more opportunities in these cases, country life can provide the best of both worlds.…

It is a well-known fact that the world is becoming increasingly urbanized. In almost every country in the world the trend has been for more and more people to move from small towns to larger cities. Although there are certain aspects of living in small town that I would appreciate such as clean air and less noise, however the urbanizing trend pretty much reflects my own preference for living in a big city rather than in a small town, because in my opinion the place one lives in plays more important role in one’s life in terms of wider range of opportunities. I think the education and career opportunities are the most prominent among them.…
