If you want a fun and tense story of a kid named Maks, a news boy that keeps getting beat up well you need to read City of Orphans. In the story City of Orphans, Maks is selling papers and he finds a girl laying in an ally, when she wakes up she is wondering what happened. After Maks tells her, Bruno comes in the ally. As they are trapped in the ally, Willa pulls out a stick and starts to protect her and Maks. They get out of the ally and run to Maks’ house, and go inside to get away from Bruno. As they walk in, Maks’ mother had just finished making dinner and she asked Willa if she would like to stay and eat with them. So as they are eating, mama asks Willa where she lives and she says she does not have a home. Then mama says well since you don’t live anywhere, you can stay with us. After she says that all of Maks’ brothers say “please will you stay”? Willa says okay I will stay. That next morning Maks has some bad news, her sister has just been arrested. Mother says “why has Emma been arrested.” I do not know but I will find out. After maks is done with his job he came back home and told his mom that she is in jail because she stole a golden watch from a store. “Well can we get her out?” asked his mother.
