Martin Luther King was arrested for participating in a peaceful protest in Birmingham, this resulted in Dr. King writing a letter, to refute both the local and national news for criticizing him as being an extremist and his participation in the Christian Leadership Conference; leading the peaceful protest of many civil right movements.
