The rights being guaranteed by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were the desegregation of all public places, an employer may not deny a person employment because of their race, gender, or religion. One cannot be denied federal funding solely on the judgment of their race, gender, or religion. Americans have the right to vote without racial discrimination. The applications given to voter must be the same type given to all voters of all colors. These rights were mainly written to protect minorities from unfair treatment however, before this had become law, women had been being treated as a less valuable employee in terms of their paycheck. For example, before this bill was passed a woman and a man could have worked at the same place, doing the same amount of work and the woman probably would have received less money for her efforts. Overall, Americans that experienced any kind of discrimination benefited from this law. In reality, though they lead to confusion, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties are different. Indeed, most of the Civil Liberties derived from the Bill of Rights while the Fourteenth Amendment is the location where the Equal Rights are found. Furthermore, Civil Liberties are specifically applied on an individual (right for a fair trial) whereas Civil Rights concern whether an individual or a group (right for the young of eighteen-year age to vote). It is important because today, this amendment protects a variety of groups against discrimination.…

The Civil Rights didn’t just involve one law, but multiple laws and amendments. These laws and supreme court rulings helped desegregate public places. There are laws that gave African Americans a chance to have more freedom. That freedom could have been a definite right to vote or being able to go to whatever school they wanted to go to, but there were laws that didn’t always help them. Those laws that went against it or found a way around the Civil Rights act of 1866. There have been laws, acts, and amendments to help end segregation and then there have also been laws to encourage segregation.…
