One, would be the accomplishment of the thirteenth, fourteenth, and the fifteenth amendment. The thirteenth amendment helped America by banning slavery throughout our nation. The fourteenth amendment was made to guarantee equal protection of the laws, and the fifteenth amendment denied the right to vote because of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. Our founding fathers wanted America to be a nation filled with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness which now doesn’t only refer to the whites, but to all american citizens in the United States of America. Not only that, during reconstruction the Freedmen’s Bureau helped former slaves and poor whites recover from the Civil War. With the Freedmen’s Bureau, provided them with food, housing and medical aid, established schools and offered legal assistance. Having the Freedmen’s Bureau, our founding fathers would be proud to see that our nation is helping one another even though we fought in a war that really influenced America a lot.
