Ralph was mad and murmured “that was a dirty trick”.(Golding 72) This demonstrates Ralphs anger towards Jack for what he as done and said to piggy. Ralph attempts to make it known that he truly thinks that he should be the leader and tries to convince everyone with an aggressive and assertive tone. This suggests there is still some glimmers of civilisation on the island at this point as there is still someone with a sense of moral goodness ready to fight for justice. In this case, Ralph portrays little bits of civilization on the island and is the only one on the island with their morals still intact.
