Criminal justice terms
Criminal justice is a profession that is widely known around the world. Many people dream about pursuing a career in the law enforcement field. The law enforcement field like any other profession has its own terminology, to be effective as a police officer, lawyer, or detective a person must have a good general knowledge of the law enforcement field terminology. This paper will explain and define some law enforcement terms such as Pseudospeciation, social constructions, bigotry, racism, hegemony, disparity, and discrimination.
Pseudospeciation
This term refers to the “cultural differences that cause humans to separate into different social groups, with different language, dress, and customs”. For example, Jews and Germans back in World War 2 were different races separated into two different social groups. Some of the outcomes of pseudospeciation are dehumanization and discrimination. Some people argue that pseudospeciation is innate. All humans like to break people into classes. For example, politicians are important, on the other hand, the entertainers may not be as important. Racism is one of the biggest problems in the world because many people commit hate crimes just because they hate other biological races, some people think there are races that are superior and use this belief as an excuse to commit crime. In addition, many people commit racial crimes because their ancestors were slaves, so they hold that chip on their shoulders forever.
