In a stunning turns of events, Batman gave up crime fighting to start mass producing Batmobiles for GM in Michigan. Batman did this for many years. This was a disappointment to crime fighters everywhere. Batman, 70 years old, Married Catwoman, 35 years old, & they lived happily for many years. But when he was 77 years old Batman’s mind started to slip, often finding himself unaware of his surroundings. A few weeks after the onset of these symptoms, His wife, Catwoman, took him to an attorney’s office. During a meeting with Riddler the lawyer, Catwoman convinced Batman to re-do his will. Under his old will, all of Batman’s money was to go to local crime fighting organizations. Catwoman convinced Batman to change his will to give all his money and property to Catwoman. At first, Batman was reluctant to change his will, but Catwoman pressed & pressed. At one point, she threatened to leave him unless he changed his will. She also told Batman that he had promised to change his will to include her. Although Batman had no recollection of saying that, he figured that it was just his faulty memory and he believed what Catwoman told him. In fact Catwoman was lying & Batman had never made such promise. Nevertheless, Batman caved and changed his will to suit Catwoman’s wishes. 2 years later, Batman died of a heart attack brought on by too much stress when he was younger. Catwoman moved for the will to be admitted to probate. The organizations beneficiaries of Batman first will appeared in the court to argue that the second will should be invalidated because Catwoman exerted undue & unfair influence over Batman in the process of the re-doing of Batman’s will. Under Michigan law anytime a will is made by someone who is of weakened mind & a will is made to meet the wishes of another it is considered undue & unfair influence. What this means to our case is that due to Catwoman’s contued pressing Batman to change his will to fit her wishes…

The overall testamentary plan seems to be that Jackie Kennedy Onassis’ (testator) estate was allocated proportionately to those people she deemed to be the closest to her. Thus, the further away from Jackie via bloodline, the less the person inherited and the less personal the gifts seemed to be. The majority of her real and personal property was left to her children, while friends and other relatives received legacy gifts. Some of the gifts to her friends were very specific (as in question 3), so it is likely that there was some sort of sentimental value between Jackie, the devisee, and the property in question. Whole-blooded relatives received a larger portion than her half-blooded relatives and those related by marriage. Jackie’s children were to also receive the corpus of the martial deduction trust created by President Kennedy, in which Jackie had the power of appointment.…

Imagine yourself lying in a hospital bed oblivious to the world around you, unable to move or show any signs of life. Your own existence controlled by an I.V., a respiratory machine, and a feeding tube. In essence, you are dead. Your body is no longer able to sustain life. Your life’s entire purpose is now replaced by a machine. You are being kept alive by artificial means. At this point, the question arises: Should you be kept alive by these means or should you be allowed to die a natural death? Unfortunately, you are unable to answer this question because your voice is limited to a "beep" on a heart monitor machine. Who then is going to decide if you live artificially or die naturally? Who gets to play God? Well, if your family doesn't have your written consent in the form of a living will, to cease life support, then the doctor will make the ultimate decision for both you and your family.…

As Wendell Phillips said,”Every man meets his Waterloo at last.” Each of us is destined to bid goodbye to this world and to something eventually. Saying goodbye is a hard thing to do, especially to this school, but I shall never be unable to summon up the times I have disbursed and the reminiscence I have apportioned with my school mates, mentors and with the school. As I bid my last addio, as I say my last abschied, as I utter my last valediction to this institution, I shall be fortified and strengthened by the memories I shared. As uttered by Isadora Duncan, “Farewell, my friends, I go to…

The most important day of my life had just happened recently this year. The word graduation means more than a ceremony for me. It means changes in my life, to reach a higher stage of my life, the time to become a new person, the time to grow up, time to follow my dreams and separate responsibilities from fun. We have fought the fight, and we have overcome, and we took our final walk in the old stomping grounds. With the help of generous contributions from local companies and the hard work of the students made Graduation at Ramsey Field a reality.…

To my co-Alumnae and Chronicler readers, The second issue of the year is always a pleasure to prepare . This is when we feature the July Homecoming Celebration Week -- so much material available to work with, mostly pictures making the newsletter largely a pictorial. But the pictures of happy faces, depictions of enjoyment tell their own story making for not much need for words.. The coverage of the Institutional Welcome on Friday takes on more pages as it gains a more significant role in the re-igniting of the Theresian Spirit. A week before, the Silver Jubilarians led the Alumnae outreach actiivity. Then came the traditional components - the Eucharistic Celebration, the evening programme of dances. the dinner. And underlying all the activities was the warm camaraderie of friends who shared the Theresian upbringing. Loyalty for the school was re-awakened by a brouhaha and a legal battle the school got embroiled in this year -- this loyalty theme we hope to have depicted well in this issue’s cover.…
