My wife has just handed me the newspaper, The Los Angeles Times. What is striking is not the headlines but the date today - March 27, 2030. It has been 15 years since I graduated in Saint James School. I already settled here in San Pedro, California about 3 years ago as a graphic artist at the Mercedes Z Benz Co. I designed new models of Mercedes Benz Sports Cars; and as a part time I designed a website and some arts digitally on HTML Co. owned by a well-known Web Developer Brendel Jeorge Macalino with the help of Junel Motol an IT Specialist.
Many things have changed into our lives since our high school graduation last 2014, and I have seen that when I visited the Philippines just 3 weeks ago, I was invited as a guest speaker for the inauguration and ribbon cutting of the BRP Macalino a new Frigate, which was designed by Gerard Marvin Galang a Naval Architect.
I was joined by my former classmate, Sayuri Bolante on my flight to Manila. She looked so glamorous now. She also migrated here in California and works as a Writer at Barnes & Noble Incorporated. Sayuri was also invited for the inauguration and at the same time to publish her new book titled “One Day”, which is the best-selling book this time.
We took a short flight to New York from San Diego and then connected to Manila. Sayuri and I flew on a first class. As the aircraft being taxied to NA’s runway, we heard a familiar voice on the PA, “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome on board to the Philippine Airlines flight PR-143 to Manila. This is Capt. Gerardo Figueroa Jr. …” I wondered if the pilot was our classmate, then someone tapped me and said, “Sir, we’re about to take off. Please fasten your seatbelt.” I was surprised because the flight attendant who tapped me was a familiar face. And I was right. She was Erika Anne Calayag who was now working as a Flight Attendant. I have also confirmed from her that our flight’s pilot was our classmate, Gerardo. As we chatted during the flight, Erika told us that she’s already engaged to Gerardo, and planning to have their wedding in six months, in a summer resort in Philippines who happens to be owned and managed by Joline Sison, This resort of Joline was mostly visited by the prominent persons in the whole world.
We were driving along Edsa on our way to Subic Bay. Edsa was still the same 15 years ago filled with gigantic billboards. When we reached Subic Bay, an enormous billboard caught my attention. On the huge picture of a stunning guy was 2030 Best Actor, Gremil Miguel, also a product endorser of Bench that Group- owned and by Rianna Cali Dagamat and Mariane Joy Galang. Their company now leads the Asian market for the shopping mall industry. In fact, Forbes Magazine named them as one of the richest Filipino of the Decade along with Ayala and SM.
As we headed up north, I noticed that lots of billboard ads have Gremil as the product endorser. Sayuri told me that Gremil became popular in the Philippines after he become an Actor 8 years ago. She is one of the ABS-CBN’s major talent and leads star in the teleserye “Got to Believe” as Joaquin Manansala- a sequel of the 2022 classic and that was directed by John Carlo Reyes. Gremil was married to the Best News Anchor of TV Patrol Zen Marie Bruzola three years ago, and was blessed with a-year-old boy Gremil Miguel Jr.

We arrived at PH Naval Base Subic Bay around 1PM on that day and the cutting ribbon was at 4pm. I went frist to my Alma Mater. While walking, I bumped into a familiar figure, Rustie Manzano, now one of the best MAPEH Teacher of Saint James School. I go back and arrived in PH Naval Base Subic Bay at exactly 3pm. We could not wait to see the new Ship, so we went ahead to sneak a peek. When we entered Naval Base’ entrance, we bumped into familiar figure, Captains: Fortunato Paralejas together with Caezar Ryan Vindua, now one of the best Marine Engineer of all time. Engineer Daryl Pamintuan was the one who is responsible for constructing the machine of the ship. Architect Marvil Galang was also there at the site to check out his masterpiece. Then when he saw us, he gave us a very warm welcome.
The day of the ribbon cutting came and alumni from different batches who are now also a Marine Engineer arrived little by little at the event.
I went back to my car, thanked God for the experience and I just drove, going to Makati in The Trump Tower Manila to take some rest. The Trump Tower Manila, the best residential condo in Philippines, owned by Liyanne Calubhay. I have some doubts the fact that question came to my mind asking, “Who managed to build this?”, so I ask her and I was totally surprised that Anne Royette Lacbain, Jerrel Dale Romero and Christian Ray Ambrosio are the Engineer with the Interrior Designer Rainer Montevilla who just designed the full condo. And it was implausible that they made the condo just for one year but then they really made it. While looking at the window I noticed that there was a huge tower. I just wondered what communication tower is that. Tower of PLDT Company owned by Engineer Vance Candelaria.
Sitting on my couch while reading a newspaper, PDI. The first I open the newspaper suddenly the headline strikes me and it was marvelous that Chemist Charene Bernabe discovered a new chemical element that named after her. On the other page of the newspaper I just saw a very popular restaurant named Henry Café. I hitched a ride downtown and went in. The name may not be wonderful, but the food sure is. Kaoru Yokoyama, the famous chef of all time gave it a rating of “Superb”.
My money is just really enough to pay the bills of those delicious food I ate. I felt a need for more money. I went to Metrobank, a recognizable face greeted me. She was a nice woman. Her name is Ms. Jeremy Marañon on her side was also a bank accountant Named Jade Raymundo. The other accountant were Zoila Mercado, Lei Anne Agulto, Trisha Angela Fundal and of course the most gorgeous accountant Kent Ian Mendoza. Jade Razal the Assessor of that bank, she values the property for taxation. I was so shocked all of them working together on the same bank.
Those delicious food I’ve ate has gave me an excruciating feeling on my teeth. I contacted Joseph Benoit Felarca to take care of my teeth. Joben as his nickname, he is a great dentist and he owned a dental clinic. So Joben have a lot of patient and but teeth should be take care immediately. So Nicole Diaz is the one who take a good care for my teeth. Thank you to them for a healthy teeth.
I’ve deciced to go Philippine General Hospital to visit Jolivette Edry Dumandan a great Cardiologist, she looks so captivating. Laurence Oliveros Jolivette’s diligent nurse. Also Dawn Angel Gomez an Osteologist and Joshua James Adamos a Medical Technologist were in that hospital. I heared from them that Sheena Mariel Pona a Psycologist was settled in National Center of Mental Health is Mandaluyong. I also heard from them that Sheena healed lots of people with mental disorders. I took so long chatting with them. I went mall. While walking in department store of that mall someone tapped me, the face so familiar. Exactly, that was Kit Chloe Dugenia. I learned from her that goods are needed to clear through customs barriers for importers and exporters. She was now a licensed Custom Broker and she was working with Ren Alejo who was also a licensed Custom Broker. The most awaited match between Brgy. Ginebra and San Mig Coffee Mixers for championship. Lester Kent Samson was the star player of Brgy. Ginebra. Among of the VIPs was one of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Ambassador, Dr. Kate Goldberg. She was tasked to put the medal for MVP. Some celebrities who arrived and one of them is Gremil was also most awaited, especially by his fans. But nothing compares the arrival of the undefeated lawyer, Viviene Gail Delgado, who took her private helicopter. She was the first one who did that. After I found a sit someone poke me then called by my nickname “wawa”, the voice was irritating but so familiar. I’m right she’s Diannah Lee Ignao, she’s now a licensed Engineer. Someone sat after my sit, cheering Lester Kent with her loud voice, that voice is so military. That was Lady Zamantha Jo Raymundo, now a Military Officer. Some of my former classmates come to watch and cheer Kent.
After the intense game Brgy. Ginebra got the PBA championship. Lester Kent Samson won the MVP award for this year. Can you imagine, he is being called “The Hero”
I only stayed for 5 days in the Philippines since I have many things to do back home in San Pedro. But that short trip was amazing and wonderful, getting to see some old friends and heard good news about the others. I reflect and just realized that my Alma Mater was indeed like a huge factory of leaders and great individuals. Moreover, I am proud to be one them.
I have to go for now because my wife is now calling me for breakfast. I will just give you an update maybe for another 15 years.
Good luck to each and every one and may the prophecy come true. Let this lovely night inspire you, the love you feel guide you, the smile in your face move you, and the love of God show you the way. God bless us all. 

The purpose of this experiment is to investigate the composition of a simulated pharmaceutical preparation Panacetin, a proposed type of pain-killer. Panacetin is typically made up of sucrose, aspirin, and acetaminophen, but the third component in this experiment is unknown. The unknown component is suspected to be a chemical relative of acetaminophen, either acetanilide or phenacetin. Using techniques such as extraction, evaporation, and filtration, the three components will be isolated based on their solubilities and acid-base properties. The percent composition of Panacetin will also be deduced based on the masses of the three dried components; this is done to verify the composition attained is consistent with those listed on the preparations label. As a result of this investigation, my teammates and I allowed the Panacetin to undergo gravity filtration and separation techniques in order to identify whether there are any discrepancies in the components of the Panacetin. Furthermore, recrystallization and purification methods were used to determine if the unknown substance were similar in properties to either of the suspected unknown substances by comparing factors such as melting points to the chemical properties of phenactin and acetanilide. The results were as expected, based on the molecular weights and ratios of each separated chemicals, as well as the boiling point of the unknown it was determined that these ranges were close enough to indicate that the label is reasonably accurate in its composition. To add on however the identity of the unknown component differed from what the label indicated. In the end, the percentage composition attained based on our observations and yield confirmed that indeed the chemical composition of Panacetin were as indicated on the preparations label. The identity of the unknown component however suggested that the preparation did not contain acetaminophen as indicated, but instead was consistent with the chemical properties…

Roosevelt said in his first inaugural speech,”…The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Though the speech delivers a passionate affect towards the American public for years, it seems like it lost meaning 60 years later. “Show me the man whose happiness was anything more than illusion.” (59) In the ancient Greek drama of Oedipus the King, prophecy plays a major role in the play. Prophecy is considered to be something that comes from the gods, something divine that is the truth and cannot be changed. Prophecy doesn’t seem to permit concept of free-will, a highly popular and controversial topic in today’s modern world. Free-will, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is “freedom of humans to make choices that are not determined by prior causes or by divine intervention” [1]. Prophecy, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is “the inspired declaration of divine will and purpose” [2]. The two oppose each other quite clearly and in Oedipus the King, it is prophecy that takes…

For most of the 100 or so sleepy-eyed people boarding the U.S. Airways shuttle to Boston from New York on a recent hazy Saturday morning, the 35-minute flight could not have been a bigger non-event. But that was not the case for about 20 passengers clustered nervously near the gate. Many clutched puzzle books and bags of sour candy as though they held talismans. Some made nervous jokes, others sobbed quietly. “I have pills with me just in case of an emergency,” said a teenage girl who planned to distract herself on the flight with celebrity magazines. Mariasol Flouty, a 44-year-old software developer from White Plains, held fast to her Sudoku book. “I had plane-crash nightmares,” she confessed. “I woke up very tense.” No one was more terrified than Beth Brenner, a 45-year-old mother of two teenagers from Somers, N.Y. “I was hysterical last night,” she said, “but my son said, ‘You’re going to be O.K.’ ” Ms. Brenner was crying quietly on the…

Because I was at the back, I couldn't tell what was going on in the first class section. Three people with red bandannas entered the cockpit. The had left one person outside of the cockpit who was holding something in his hand. After a minute or so, they came back out of the cockpit dragging two bodies behind them. They went back in the cockpit and within a minute we were told from the new pilot that they had a bomb on board. They allowed us to make phone calls. I was the first one to be able to make a call. My parents didn't pick up the phone, so I left a message telling them that my plane had been hijacked. After I left a message, I sat down in my seat and let others…

On June 12, 2006, I was ready to board my flight at San Diego International airport, when I was given a once in a lifetime experience. As I began to board, the captain and first officer were greeting the passengers ahead of me. The line was moving very slowly; however, I eventually made it to the front. The captain and I began talking when all of a sudden he asked a very typical question, “What do I want to be when I grow up?” I responded, “I want to be a pilot” and for no apparent reason offered to take me into the cockpit. Inside the cockpit, the captain continued to talk about the plane while pointing to instruments such as altimeter and vertical speed indicator, when I suddenly asked him, “How did he become a pilot?” He responded by saying,…

When I was young I always dreamed of flying on a plane. Finally, my dream was coming true, and I was on my way to the USA where I had always known I would end up. This was my first trip on an airplane, and it was also one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I remember everything about my first flight, and it was a lot to remember since it took twenty-seven hours from start to finish. The fight did have one stop in Japan, but that was just to change planes. Once my parents and I got onto the plane and sat down, I started to look at everything around me. I noticed the small white air vents right above my head with little lights next to the vent. It was so great because the controls were right on my armrest. There was a place on the armrest to plug the headphones in in order to listen to music or watch a movie. After everyone got settled into their seats, the airhostess came over the intercom and explained all of the safety procedures. But I am going to tell you; I couldn’t understand what they say, besides staring at their body language. They also showed everyone how to put the seat belts on correctly. After the airhostess was done with…

Prices on anything and everything are skyrocketing. Employee’s hours are slowly getting cut at work. Minimum wage is staying at a constant. All of these things are affecting our lives in a negative way. Many families have had to foreclose their homes and file bankruptcy. Kids have a hard time finding financial aid for school, and it is preventing them from trying to get an education. You would think everyone in the world would open there eyes and see what is happening and try to fix it, but we, the human race, are encouraging our fate; the end of time. December 22, 2012 is the universal prediction of the end of time. It is up to us to change that, but we are too ignorant to work together and try to mend the damage we have done. Why did I mention the end of time? Because, in a deeper sense, it ties in with social class. The division among people has given us a reason to judge others. Some upper class citizens feel high and mighty compared to the lower class. This is also where stereotyping comes from. We have nicknames like trailer trash, white trash, and nigger. These names come from the classification the human race made for themselves. John Quincy Archibald faced all of these problems, and that is why his situation serves has an excellent…

Only time will tell, but in 20 years I see practically a brand new me.…
