THE CLASS PROPHECY

Each one of us has our dreams and ambitions in life. Our main goal is to be successful and our mission is to search for real happiness. The purpose of our lives is to be happy. But there is one thing that we are all afraid of it is "OUR TOMORROW". Out of nowhere we are thinking of what lies ahead of us? Tomorrow will never be the same as today. There were a lot of questions bothering as such as: What if we can't make it to the finishing line? What if we will be left behind? Or what if we fail? We are all afraid of what might happen in the future. There are a lot of "what if's", but in this where CHANGE is the only thing permanent, we should be ready to turn all what if's to why not's. Let us be strong and entrust everything to God's greater plans for He said "Do your best, and I will do the rest."

Lend me your ears. Fasten your seatbelt. Sit back and relax. In just a few minutes we will take a trip to the future.

Awaken by the same lyrics of song I used to hear 10 years ago, "I wish I could turn back time," it's actually my alarm clock tune. If you think it's weird? Well I also think so. Okay never mind, I get off bed and did my daily routine. I am currently having my breakfast when my phone beep, it's a text message from my mom reminding me not to be late again with my flight. Yes you heard it right, late again because I was once left by the plane on one of my trip to London. It's not surprising because ever since high school, I was always late. Okay enough of that embarrassing story. By the way, all my things were pack and viola, I'm ready to go. I drive for myself in going to the airport. Take note, I know how to drive now. This is it I'm going home!

When I was on the plane, a voice rang throughout the plane. As usual, it was the stewardess informing us that we are travelling with pilot and co-pilots, WHAT? To my surprise it was Captain Romanito Ongnan together with co-pilots Captain Jun-jun Moro and Captain Rosaldo O. Dela Torre. I am so

In modern day people live their life and are determined to better their future from their past. This means that the past that I have already lived is what created the path, walkway, stepping stones for who I want to become in the future and, what I plan on accomplishing in life. I live for this belief because it is the reason why I do what I am doing today. The plan that I thought I was destined to take three days ago might have been altered today, and I might have to found a new path to follow.…

Morrie aphorism “What if today were my last day on earth?” (p. 64) made me think. When Mitch said that to Morrie it made me think about it too. Since Mitch knew already that Morrie was going to die soon, it made him think about it too. I have to say that if someone ever mentioned something like this in a conversation it would make them think about it because thats life. Like Forest Gump said a movie that almost everyone uses “Life Like A Box of Chocolates” because you don't know what you’re going to get which relates to this in a way because you dont whats going to happen to tomorrow basically you don't know what the future holds for you. You might not even wake up because one cannot for tell the future. Anyways the aphorism has been true to me because no one would want to talk about their last day on earth, they just want live and enjoy life because this is one in a lifetime. I also feel like i can feel how they are feeling when Morrie and MItch are having a conversation and that comes up. Like what if today was my last day on day ,how would I act or say. I can speak for about everyone when i say everyone would be scared if they thought today was their last day on earth. Personally I will be terrified especially…

We all want something out of life and most of us have a plan for our lives and where exactly we want to be in 5, 10, or even 20 years. However, most of the time, those 5,10, and 20 year plans do not work out as we expected. We go through triumphs and tragedies; we grow and learn; and we eventually realize that what we have planned is probably going to change because we have changed. Over the course of my life, I have changed in a variety of ways and have overcame a number of challenges. I’ve made plans for my life and most of them did not work out, but looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.…

After school on Tuesday, my mom and stepdad were still deciding if we should evacuate because of Hurricane Matthew. Later they made a decision “We are going to leave early tomorrow morning.” We were going to go stay at my stepdad’s parents house at Lake Jackson. Everyone woke up at 4:30 except me, I hadn’t packed so I got up at 4:00. I usually snooze about two times but today I adapted to just waking up. My dogs were already up like every other day. My dog Sugar hates being in the car but Bear, my stepbrothers dog, is okay, he just sleeps. Now, almost everyone was up except for my mom, she was still sleeping. Once everyone was awake we left.…

When I was young I always dreamed of flying on a plane. Finally, my dream was coming true, and I was on my way to the USA where I had always known I would end up. This was my first trip on an airplane, and it was also one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I remember everything about my first flight, and it was a lot to remember since it took twenty-seven hours from start to finish. The fight did have one stop in Japan, but that was just to change planes. Once my parents and I got onto the plane and sat down, I started to look at everything around me. I noticed the small white air vents right above my head with little lights next to the vent. It was so great because the controls were right on my armrest. There was a place on the armrest to plug the headphones in in order to listen to music or watch a movie. After everyone got settled into their seats, the airhostess came over the intercom and explained all of the safety procedures. But I am going to tell you; I couldn’t understand what they say, besides staring at their body language. They also showed everyone how to put the seat belts on correctly. After the airhostess was done with…

2:00 AM, I was awoken by my cousin and all I felt was excitement and exhaustion. Right away, I called my friends to wake them up. There was no “Good morning, Janie.” on the other end of the phone call. The only greeting I got was drowsy voices saying, “Yeah, I’m up.” I hopped out of bed, running on only 3 hours of sleep. My body wasn’t ready to begin this journey, the excitement in me was the only thing getting me through Monday morning.…

The night before my flight was the longest night of my life. I tossed and turned and my bed was a tangled mess of sheets and anxiety. When I eventually drifted off into dreamland I was rudely interrupted by my alarm which at first sounded like the sound made by the button you press when summoning the steward on a plane. With adrenaline pumping I got ready in a jiffy and we left for the airport.…

We are never promised the honor to live the next day; we are never guaranteed tomorrow. You can not live regretting your decisions. You must live in the moment or the moment is wasted. The one you love more than words could describe could be gone tomorrow; the reason they are gone could get locked up. Lose focus and look away, what you turned to see can be the last thing you saw before you life flashes before your eyes. Your next breath you take in could be your last. We all realize these things at our own pace; we all have experiences that open our eyes to reality; mine were all crammed into one dramatic week. “Everything happens for a reason, but I think it's important to seek out that reason - that's how we learn” as said…

At some point and time in life, everybody has an epiphany. I like to call epiphanies “aha” moments or a moment when you figure something out and it changes your life and the way you view things. I am sure over the years, I have had plenty of epiphanies, like discovering my fingers and toes as a baby or learning how to ride a bike, but the only epiphany that sticks with me is the one that I had the summer before my senior year of high school. When I was little the future was so far away. I did not really care about what I wanted to be when I grew up.…

Looking to the future and being afraid of making the wrong choices, is a natural emotion that mostly all humans feel at least once in their lifetime. In the poem written by Karen Connelly, The Story, she brings to light the fear that us as humans feel when looking towards our future and hoping we do not mistakenly choose the wrong path. Connelly shows us in her poem that even with all the ‘scars’ from our past failed decisions, we are capable to move forward and continue living our lives. This piece of literature is a timeless poem, that anyone at all could relate to in one way or another. In some way everyone has been afraid of looking towards a goal we have set for ourselves, and contemplating whether or not we will make a wrong decision…
