Ways of quitting smoking Smoking is one of the major problems in our society, because smokers harm themselves and others. Actually smoking directly causes thousands of diseases like Cancer, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and high blood pressure. In addition, smoking has many disgusting results like, yellow teeth, dark lips, and bad breath. Tobacco companies now have general warnings on their cigarette packs; however, smokers ignore these warnings and light up the cigarettes and poison themselves. Many smokers think about quitting smoking but they are afraid of the side effects of quitting smoking like weight gain, headache, dizziness, and trouble concentrating. These side effects can be prevented by trying out these effective ways of quitting smoking: nicotine replacements, physical activities, and stop smoking programs. Nicotine replacements are so helpful in the first few months of quitting smoking. The role of nicotine replacements is to provide the nicotine to the smoker in other harmless forms. The primary benefit of nicotine replacements is that they fight nicotine cravings, which allows the smoker to overcome the nicotine addiction. There are many forms of nicotine replacements, the most common forms are nicotine patches and nicotine gums. Nicotine patches administer nicotine transdermally, but nicotine gums administer nicotine orally. Also, nicotine sprays, nicotine lozenges, and nicotine tablets administer nicotine orally. Moreover, the electronic cigarette is the newest form of nicotine replacements. Most people prefer to use electronic cigarettes, because they help people to overcome nicotine addiction by smoking another form of harmless nicotine. Some forms of chewing nicotine like snus cause negative health effects. Moreover, many people say that using nicotine replacements is the most successful way of quitting smoking. Physical activities play an important role in helping the smokers to quit smoking. In fact, smokers who start a physical activity have a much higher quit smoking success rate than smokers that don’t. Smokers usually feel stressed, and when smokers give up cigarettes, their stress level likely will rise. Physical activities are an excellent stress reliever. Also, physical activities fight the most terrifying side effect of quitting smoking which is weight gain. Moreover, they have numerous of benefits to the quit-smoking process, for example improved health, improved muscle tone and physical appearance, increased self-esteem and sense of accomplishment, improved sleep, and improved attitudes. To start exercising you need to choose one or two activities that you enjoy. Most common exercises are walking, jogging, swimming, and biking. Try to exercise 30-60 minutes per day, 3-5 days per week. Moreover, some people say that physical activities are the best way of quitting smoking because after quitting smoking, they will have a better health and a better shape. Stop smoking programs are one of the most effective ways of quitting smoking. Stop smoking programs are programs which support the smokers who want to quit smoking by several techniques. Like any other addiction, overcoming nicotine addiction is difficult, especially if you want to quit alone. By using stop smoking programs, smokers will quit smoking in much easier way. Stop smoking programs are usually offered by health departments, hospitals, and national organizations. Some programs are available in the internet, and smokers can join them easily. The online programs offer advices, stop smoking strategies, and the ability to contact with online members who want to quit smoking also. If you are planning to join an online program, you should be aware of short, helpless, and expensive programs. After joining a stop smoking program, tell all of your friends and family that you will quit smoking, and inform them with your quit date that will keep you motivated. In general, quitting smoking is the best decision to make, and the hardest process to achieve. Some smokers quit smoking abruptly, others quit smoking gradually. Using one or more of the effective ways of quitting smoking will make your goal which is quit smoking easier to achieve. Nicotine replacements can help you to overcome nicotine cravings in the first few months of your process. Then, physical activities will help you to improve your health, and to prevent weight gain. Finally, stop smoking programs will provide you with all the advices, and the support you will need during your process in order to achieve your goal which is stop smoking.
