Classroom Management Paper
Classroom Management Paper 2 My philosophy for the classroom will primarily be a student centered authority. I believe that students should learn as much as they can with hands on experience. To me children will have more fun discovering various facts and thoughts, nothing can compare to hands on experience. One of my children’s favorite teachers, Mrs. Adams, has her entire classroom decorated with various aquariums with all kinds of different reptiles, spiders and fish. These include a tarantula, a pacman frog, fire bellied toads, tree frogs, skink, albino corn snake, grass snake, geckos, and a variety of colorful fish. Most of the time she uses’s these and other animals in her teaching process. I believe this has kept the students more interested in learning. Not only did they get a hands on learning but it also kept them more interested and wanting to know more. My child would always come home excited about the lesson that was taught that day and always would want to talk about the day at school. I hope that one day I can be this kind of teacher, one that can influence children to love to learn. …show more content…
I have a few ways in which to manage and discipline my classroom.
The first way I will use the color chart. This will be on a daily basis and will start out with green. After three warnings they will have to move there clothes pin down to yellow, after that it will only take them two warnings to get to orange, and after two more warnings down to red. When they get to orange I will then write a note home that will have to be signed and brought back to class the next day. In doing this I hope to encourage the parents to be more involved with their child. I will also make it possible for the student to make their way back up the chart by having them either miss out on fifteen minuets of recess. Once they get on red then I would have no
choice Classroom Management Paper 3 but to send them to the assistant principal and to have conference with the students parents. I would also employ another chart for their behavior during the week. In doing this not only would the student’s get a prize at the end of the week, but at the end of the month I would let the best student’s have lunch with me in the classroom.
With classroom organization I see myself as being very flexible. I would arrange the classroom on as needed bases or even just for a change. Sometimes when you change up a room the children get excited about it, they either get to sit somewhere new or you have added a new center. This usually affects the preschoolers and kindergarteners, since they usually have centers in their classroom. Which sometimes it can add a whole new excitement, for the students to want to learn more and encourages good behavior.
Motivation in the classroom should be as equal as possible between the internal and the external incentives. I would like to learn ways to implement both into my classroom in the hopes to create a balance for the students. Both external and internal incentives have motives that students should have.
In conclusion to my thoughts and philosophy for classroom management children need the encouragement to learn and to be able to overcome any obstacles placed before them. If children do not enjoy learning they will continuously struggle in school, which usually leads to Classroom Management Paper 4 behavior problems and eventually they end up dropping out of school. This can also lead to a whole new set of issues that will not only impact the community but the future of our society as well. Do we really want this for our society and for the children of the future? To me it is not only the parent’s responsibility to encourage children to learn and be able to enjoy it as well but the teachers too. Being a teacher is a commitment not only to children but to society as well, and should always be taken seriously.
