Clever or handsome
Some says it is more important to be clever than beautiful or handsome. There are different opinions on this topic. Some of them support the statement while the others against it. For me, clever is always the most important thing in my life. Being clever is much better than handsome or beautiful because the smarter me always get the better thing. Being smart can help us think a way to earn as much as we can in the first moment. On the otherhand, being a person just only handsome or beautiful will end up in a completely different life. They may get a lower living standard than those who get a smart brain. Besides, being a clever person will always think some faster way to finish a job. Through this kind of observing, their life will be much challenging than we could expect. Unlike those clever guy, being handsome or beautiful but stupid may feel unhappy all the time and thinking the word betrayed them. Finally, they may commit suicid. Moreover, having a smart brain can change their face easily by earning money for plastic surgery. Although plastic surgery may be a bad way to choose for a beautiful face, having enough money can change you into a beautiful woman and man, no matter how ugly, how scary our face is. The only thing they need to do is use their way to earn as much money as they can. If we are just having a handsome or beautiful face, there are no way to earn money other than being a model. Although we could still earn lots of money though being a model, we can’t ever earn as much money as the smart one does. Nowadays, money isn’t the most important thing but if we don’t have any, everything you want to get or want will just go away. Being a smart person can earn much money through their ideas. May be they aren’t that handsome or beautiful than those who born with an angel face but money can change everything. In the other way, if we just have a beautiful face and don’t have the smart and brilliant thought as those other guy does, what can they even do to earn money for the things they want? Therefore, being smart is always more important than having a handsome or beautiful face.

There are other factors that come into play, such as creativity. Give two children a test of how many ways a brick could be used and you will find that even if they have the same IQ score, one may come up with apile more uses than the other. High intelligences as measured by IQ do not essentially lead to success. Samantha Duncan wrote, “Outliers are "normal" people born with a certain drive and work ethic, but who also encounter extreme luck throughout their lives”. This is true to some point it stands alone. People are born with a certain drive and work ethic, but get lucky through out their lives. Some take advantage…

Einstein noticed this occurrence and said that “the difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.” This is shown everyday no matter how knowledgeable we become because Odysseus seemed omniscient, but still found predicaments for himself. Currently, we are no different because, no matter how academic we may be, our lack of common sense pushes us off the deep end now and…

After reading “Hidden Intellectualism” it definitely supported my feelings of what smart can be. I know academics is a part of smartness, but I know that smarts do not come from just books, but also from experience, and being around the block. A person can be extremely smart and have a terrible GPA, just like what Graff was talking about in the article. The person who is struggling does not strive in a school atmosphere and looks towards other things and gets incredibly smart that way. People can be totally oblivious to the outside world and have perfect A+’s, it can work in both ways. (302)…

Mental Ability We know people with higher levels of mental ability are able to process information more quickly, solve problems more accurately, and learn faster, so you might expect them also to be less susceptible to common deci- sion errors. However, mental ability appears to help people avoid only some of these. 74 Smart people are just as likely to fall prey to anchoring, overconfidence, and escalation of commitment, probably because just being smart doesn’t alert you to the possibility you’re too confident or emotionally defensive. That doesn’t mean intelligence never matters. Once warned about decision-making errors, more intelligent people learn more quickly to avoid them. They are also better able to avoid logical errors like false syllogisms or incorrect interpretation of data.…
