During last several decades, industrialization and human activities have produced greenhouse gases (mainly carbon dioxide). These gases make the earth’s temperature higher that leads to more serious events, such as ice smelting, floods, storms and droughts. This is called “climate change”. Climate change would have significant impacts on environment, economy and the way we live so it needs to be prevented.
In my opinion, there are several things that everybody as individual can do to reduce pollution and prevent climate change, including reducing greenhouse gases, saving energies and reducing waste.
Firstly, we can use car less by using some alternative means, such as public transport, sharing a ride, walking or cycling. We also can buy locally products so we can reduce goods transportation. Therefore, we can help reduce gas consumption and reduce carbon dioxide.
Secondly, we can save energies to decrease the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. For example, we can replace a regular bulb with a compact one; turn off all electrical equipment when they are not in use; wash our clothes in cold water instead of hot water and try to use sun light to dry clothes instead of a dryer.
Thirdly, we can limit the amount of waste to reduce pollution. We should recycle many things like paper, cans, and glass bottles and avoid using products with a lot of packaging. We can also use reusable shopping bags instead of plastic bags. These things not only help us save money but we also help protecting environment.
For all above reasons, I think everybody as an individual can do many things to prevent climate change.

To begin, one of the most common causes of pollution is from motor vehicles. Most people drive their cars to wherever it is that they need to be. Every time someone drives their car, they are putting pollution into the air and damaging the planet. There are a few ways to reduce the amount of pollution you put in the air and one of those ways is carpooling. This is definitely the most effective way because by carpooling, there is one less car that is putting out pollution and which adds up over time. According to statisticbrain.com there are 85 million gallons of gas saved yearly by carpooling. The only problem is that only 10% of Americans carpool which is not a very good percentage and it needs to grow. In additions, another way to prevent pollution is walking or biking to destinations that aren’t too far away. This way, there is no pollution being put in the air at all which is not only good for the planet but it’s also good for exercise. People pollute the air every day but the amount can easily be reduced.…

There are many ways to conserve natural resources, all we need to do is look around and find a way to minimize the usage of natural resource that we using everyday. For example, turn off the lights when we leave the house; minimize the waste produced by buying less packaged goods and reusable products, and recycling. These are little things we can do to help, and these does not take much effort to do; however, if everybody does the same, we can still make that difference. In the big picture, we can consider using more renewable natural resources such as hydro-power and solar-power. These energy resources are the best ways to conserve natural resource such as fossil fuel. Fortunately, many energy conservative products have been invented: hybrid or electric cars and energy-efficient home appliances. These are the reflections of people’s concern towards the natural resources depletion. On the whole, we need to start do our share to conserve the energy and resource as part of our responsibility to the natural…

First, we have global warming, which is a problem that must be solved as soon as possible. Some ignorant people think that it won’t happen but we are actually living this situation right now, every single day. According to some NASA studies, since 1950, the average temperature has climbed 1.4Fahrenheit degrees around the world. As a consequence of this fact, an Arctic ice area, which was bigger than the United States, has melted this year! Another evidence of global warning is that the frequency and number of hurricanes and earthquakes around the world has increased the last years. The irony of all this is that even though we do realize what is happening; even though we know that we are destroying our planet, we are still polluting, wasting and damaging.…

By allowing our planet to grow in a healthier, cleaner, and natural way, we will overcome global warming and it will be easier for us all to take care of our planet. Helping to keep our planet clean such as using less water in homes, recycling paper products, glass, aluminum, and oil, and also avoiding certain harmful products can result in lowering our man-made greenhouse gases. “According to the Energy Information Administration, the United States, China, Russia, Japan, and India together account for 54% of the world’s total carbon dioxide emissions.” (Source E) Since this represents the largest share of man-made greenhouse gases, we all should try these simple tasks to help our economy, and altogether our planet.…

The earth's climate is dynamic and always changing through a natural cycle. What the world is more worried about is that the changes that are occurring today have been speeded up because of man's activities. These changes are being studied by scientists all over the world who are finding evidence from tree rings, pollen samples, ice cores, and sea sediments. The causes of climate change can be divided into two categories - those that are due to natural causes and those that are created by man.…

I had no idea that the CO2 was emitted from our food. The production of 1 kg of beef causes around 13.3 kg of CO2. The production of 1 kg of butter causes about 23.8 kg of CO2. That is a lot of CO2 just from the food we eat! A couple environmentally friendly changes include: eating very little or no meat, eating primarily organic foods, and eating locally produced food (Eat less meat: CO2 emission of our food). These are simple steps that everyone can take to leave less of a carbon footprint.…

When the world became more industrialized, the amount of carbon dioxide that was being emitted into the atmosphere increased. In the past hundred years or so, that number has more or less skyrocketed when compared to the previous amount due to the invention and mass distribution of automobiles, aircraft, trains, and boats. The surplus of greenhouse gasses are beyond what the earth can store and are creating a pseudo blanket around the world. The earth has thence become more and more hot, “…the globe has heated up by about one degree Fahrenheit over the past century—and it has heated up more intensely over the past two decades.” (IPCC, 2001) To be able to correctly put that into perspective one must have the knowledge that the temperature difference between the ice age and current times is nine degrees. The potential repercussions of the increase in global temperature include more intense storms, more severe droughts, and rising sea levels. There are several ways to have a more positive impact on the environment. Everything from buying more energy efficient cars to helping control the population has the potential to help reduce the effects of global warming.…

However, to every problem, there is a solution. Firstly, scientists at Oak Ridge Laboratory in Tennessee have figured a way to convert carbon dioxide into ethanol. Ethanol is a harmless fuel that is used in cars in order for their movement. To add, this process is not expensive and can be applied to many nuclear power plants. This change could avert the crisis in a great way. Secondly, the common people could make a change to help avert climate change. One idea is to plant numerous trees. Trees can take in carbon dioxide for it’s own needs and releases oxygen so that our air can be a little cleaner. Secondly, recycling can help because the recycled items take less energy to manufacture. Thirdly, turning off the water when not in use can help the cause to avert climate change as well as fixing leaky faucets or broken toilets. To sum up, global warming can be averted in non-expensive…

Human activities are the one who causes the greenhouse effect. The natural greenhouse effect is a good impact to our world and become probable to making life on this planet. However, the temperature is extremely high nowadays that harm human beings, plant life, and animal life. For example, the natural resource such as petrol for electricity and vehicles for our necessary needs and wants will produce more than about billions of carbon to the air which we breathe almost every year this is the reason that cause climate change every day in our…
