When I began my nursing career as a medical assistant, I noticed many other nurses continuing their education to be able to have greater hands on approach in nursing. This opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that a nurse can do, whether it’s with direct patient care or being a resource to patients and other nurses around. After completing my RN in May of 2015, I decided that I really enjoyed being a mentor and teacher to other nurses. The essay will first discuss a model for reflective cycle, before going on to describe the situation and my feelings about it. The essay will then go on to evaluate and analyse the situation before discussing an action plan for future practice and concluding with what I have learned from my reflection.…

I was very fortunate to get hands-on clinical experience here in Internal Medicine and Cardiology for four weeks. Apart from history taking with examination in both outpatient and inpatient settings with the case presentation in morning rounds and regular daily follow-up of patients, I had the chance to observe sleep studies in detail, how we practically look for any abnormality in each stage of sleep really fascinated me. Most exciting part of this rotation was getting familiarized with electronic medical records, which took me some time to adjust, but I was quite comfortable in it by the end of my second week here. My overall practicum experience was fun and helpful. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to be inside an actual classroom. I go to see and be a part of a week in the life of a teacher and student. I observed meetings, lessons, and student interactions along with teachers. Three days out of the week I got the chance to sit in a team meeting. I thought it was a productive to see how the teachers interacted with one another. They worked together to come up with different ideas on how to teach their lessons. I could tell they all had a good relationship because they joked and freely gave their opinions. I also thought it was a good learning experience to see how my teacher presented her lesson plan with technology. In Today society technology,…
