As the Canadian Nurses Association's Code of Ethics states: nurses should work with people who have health care needs or are receiving care to enable them to attain their highest possible level of health and well-being (Canadian Nurses Association, 2017, p. 10). Nurses who work on unit 4D2/3 at the Stollery Children's Hospital care for many postoperative patients who require surgical wound care. They have significant responsibilities in assessing and treating wounds since optimal wound management is an important aspect of postoperative recovery (Milne, 2016, p. S34). With unit 4D2/3 nurses' involvement, I was able to develop a manual that is specific, practical, and evidence-based. As a result, it can be utilized frequently, which is in conformity with the purpose of this project. Consulting experts from diverse backgrounds was a constructive approach to enhance the quality and practicality of the manual. They have contributed ideas from various perspectives to make this manual comprehensive and pediatric specific. Some areas for improvement include (1) enhancing time management skills and (2) incorporating more external and evidence-based material. It was challenging to arrange meetings with the editors for consultation while on night shifts. Therefore, I had to meet with them a week before the deadline. As a result, I only had a few days to edit the manual. I will attempt to manage time more efficiently for future assignments by finishing the first draft earlier and contacting the editors earlier for consultations. As discussed previously, I was unable to include any recent and evidence-based articles due to AHS's policy. However, I found some current and factual guidelines including the wound management guidance developed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, 2017). I have shared these resources with the ET nurse for content approval and hopefully, they can be made available to the nurses in a timely manner for knowledge enhancement on wound
