Upon realizing my apprehension on the very first day at clinical, there was a meeting
scheduled with motivational messages including notifying me of her readiness to assist me along the way. Mentors and mentees explore and assess each other’s values and ascertain the viability of a continuing correspondence with proposal for initiating objectives and framework are considered (Oberleitner, 2011). My nursing and communication skills were accelerated due to the assistance received thereby gaining confidence.
Her manifestation of supportive perspective and inclination to share adroitness, prowess and proficiency is incomparable. She possesses excellent communication skills; devoted to assisting her mentees find success and indulgence in their chosen profession; and empowering others to develop their own fortitude. Triumphant mentors incite questions, are candid to questions, analyze the rationale for questions, and are willing to contemplate new options rather than overlook questions out of hand (Holmes Jr, et al 2010).
Frequency of meeting cancellations is the main factor that trivializes her ability to effectively mentor and this is understandably due to her busy schedule.
