In Clockwork Angel, by Cassandra Clare, I followed Tessa Gray on her journey to find her brother. Throughout this journey she learned to trust her friends, one of the themes of the book, and to be careful about who you trust, because not everyone is on your side. She goes through physical and emotional pain. From being tortured to having incredible heartbreak, Tessa stays strong as she learns more about her self and her mysterious past. Tessa receives a letter from her brother Nate explaining that she was to move to London and live with him. He sent her a key to his house and told Tessa who would pick her up. When Tessa got to London she was kidnapped by the dark sisters. They held her their for six weeks. During those six weeks Tessa learned that she had the power to change into anybody she wanted to, at any time. The dark sisters taught Tessa how to change and were preparing her to marry …show more content…
Nate explains that his father worked for Mortmain, a business man in London, and how he wanted to work where his father had worked. Mortmain hired him immediately upon hearing who his parents were, and kept a close eye on him. Nate also had learned that his father went to the Pandemonium Club. Nate decided that he was to go there to. Nate came out and admitted that the Pandemonium Club was where his drinking and gambling problem started. He talked about how he lost all of his money, and had to work for de Quincy (the owner of the club) to earn his money back. He had to leave his job with Mortmain, and became more and more addicted to the club. de Quincy told Nate that his sister was very special, and to have her come to London.
