Clueless Movie Analysis
Clueless was directed by Amy Heckerling and released in 1995.
2. The main character in Clueless is a blonde haired, blue eyed girl named Cher Horowitz. Cher’s father is a litigator, which is “the scariest kind of lawyer,” according to Cher. Judging by her father’s job and her brand new white jeep with “four-wheel drive, dual side airbags, and a monster sound system,” one can assume Cher belongs to the upper class. She lives in Beverly Hills in a huge mansion with columns at the front. Not only this, but she also has a maid, Lucy; a gardener, Jose; and a personal masseuse, Fabian. In addition to all her helpers, she also has a computer that helps her pick out her stylish outfits each day. In her free time, Cher likes to go to the mall.

He constantly wants to learn more about law, so he goes over to help Cher’s father with his legal documents. He also believes in helping others. He remarks to Cher, “If I ever saw you do anything that wasn’t 90 percent selfish, I’d die of shock.” This indicates Josh’s disgust for Cher’s lack of consideration for anyone other than herself.
4. Some of the characters in Clueless, as well as some of the symbols used in the movie, match up with specific archetypes. In Clueless, Cher classifies as the apparently evil figure with an ultimately good heart. At the beginning of the movie, Cher appears as a selfish, rich girl who only cares about herself. However, as the movie goes on her generosity and kindness become evident, as she helps her teachers find love, her friends become more popular, and her father and his assistants finish their legal case. Tai fits the damsel in distress archetype. After almost being pushed over the railing at the mall one day, Cher comments, “Boy considering how clueless she was, Tai sure had that damsel in distress act down.” Throughout the movie, Tai constantly needs help. First, she needs Cher and Dionne’s help to make her popular. Then, she needs help when she gets hit in the head at a party. At another party, she stumbles down the stairs and needs Cher’s help to get up. Finally, at the mall Cher’s friend Christian saves her when some boys threaten to push her over the

A lot of important details about Louis Zamperini’s life were left out in the movie. There are many reasons for this, which are arguably very important. The three biggest things that were left out of the movie are, the realization that Louis came to about his faith in God, Japanese guards actually treated Louis very well when he first was captured, and Louis actually came face to face with Adolf Hitler. Based solely on the novel of Divergent a movie was made lasting two hours and nine minutes. This isn't a short span of time for a movie yet, could it be pure coincidence that they left out some details. Could it have been some of the effects were to gruesome for a film rated PG-13? Or were these actions of leaving the details out more purposeful? Does it give the movie somewhat of a different meaning than the original script of the book? So it brings into question, who wrote it better the writer of the novel Veronica Roth, or the director of the film Neil Burger?…

Jan Perkowski created a ten-part analysis outline to be used for analyzing different characteristics and functions of vampires that appear in film, television, and literature. In The Breakfast Club, there is an overwhelming idea of the future. The students only think about one week in advance before their Saturday detention. They never thought about what their actions could do to their future. For example, Brian did not seem to grasp that because he was so ready to kill himself over one failed assignment. He was thinking in the now and not in the future. A noticeable moral of this film is: Parents should actually raise their children. In this film, all of the parents have minimal screentime, but it is still evident that they totally suck. Claire’s parents use her as a tool of revenge against one another, and her parents fail to see the effect it has on her. Andrew’s parents push him too hard, and as a result he is…

I will be writing about 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This movie is about a girl who gets into an accident that results in brain damage. Then she experiences a form of amnesia called “Goldfield’s Syndrome” according to the movie. Basically, Goldfields syndrome doesn’t allow Drew to form new memories, but doesn’t erase what she knew before the accident. She can remember up to one day, then she relives the next day as if it was the first day after the accident, over and over again. The movie has its strengths and weaknesses in accurately portraying the memory. For the most part, I believe the movie did a good job portraying it.…
