With the advent of technology finest ability to provide users with information management, numerous possibilities have been found and developed to cater to the ever-growing needs of users in different sectors of the society. These sectors differ from one to another in diverse ways and they utilize the tools of information management quite differently as well. Hence, a careful study of the different aspects of the society would enable the proper development of the right system to handle and meet the demands of such sector of society.
In the religious sector of society especially Christianity, there is a rising need of building an effective information management to meet the demands of Christian organizations. Christianity is ranked the largest religion in the world today. According to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, in 2010 there were 2.18 billion Christians around the world, nearly a third of the global population. This means that 32% of the world's population is considered to be Christian. The Center for the Study of Global Christianity (CSGC) at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary also says there are approximately 41,000 Christian denominations and organizations in the world. This statistic takes into consideration cultural distinctions of denominations in different countries, so there is overlapping of many denominations. With this record breaking statistics, the need to maintain an information system in any organization under this cannot be under emphasized. This project would attempt to develop an information system for a typical Christian organization.
Furthermore, this project would also attempt to introduce the ease of information management while maintaining proper security of data. Amongst areas of need covered in this project are: * Membership Database * Event calendar (giving special reference to the leader’s iternary) * Account information * Departmental Reporting Scheme * Alerts.
The aim of this project is
