Cnotia Brown Analysis
Cynotia Brown was the sixteen-year-old girl that got arrested for first-degree murder of man name Jonny Allen. Cyntoia Brown is one of those children, born into a life of parental drug and alcohol abuse, prostitution and eventually being placed in foster care. Cynotia was influenced early on in life that causes her to grown up fast and to defined herself, therefore, the way to treat others was the way she was treated, that to survive prostitution was not a quick way to earn money but a survival tactic. Brown was in the hotel with “Cutthroat”(Drug dealer) which was her “pimp” and all they did was have sex and smoke. "Kutthroat" took the advice of this young girl because she didn’t have anyone look up to, no money and nowhere to live. I feel …show more content…
Brown told him I want to go to the hotel and he said no let's go to my house. Jonny stated that he was more snap in the army and other things that made her scared. A psychology examiner said she have a personality disorder that allowed her to kill Jonney because of her past, How evil been done to her in a pass. Her father used to just slap her for no reason, the guy(She was living with ) used to have sex with her when she just cried and let him and also choock her out until she cant breath. The victim was reaching for a gun and she got scared. Through he was going rape or murder her so she had no choice but to defend herself and killed him first. She was very scared and like things running through her head. Is he alive, dead, why is he moving and she didn’t know what to do about the situations because of what was done. Cyntoia Brown is serving a life sentence in Tennessee Prison for Women for the murder of Johnny Allen. However, there is evidence to support that she did this is self-defense, she was also 16 at the time the incident AND was tried as an adult. There is also evidence to suggest that Cyntoia has some mental and emotional disorders as a result of being abused as a …show more content…
The judgement to try her as an adult was so messed up. It shows you that Criminal Justice System is out to hurt individuals instead of helping them through the situation. When looking at her speaking in court you tell she told the truth because she never changed her statement and/or lost eye contact in the courtroom. This young girl body laugh actually show her remorse for the victim and she didn’t really mean to kill the victim because she wanted to. She really was scared and worried about the victim and she sounds so intgentate and smart that really was in a bad situation. I completely understand that she did something wrong but life wasn’t the answer in this case. Why through away the key when this young girl been through a lot in her life, evidence that clearly show she have psychology disorder and it was genetic that come from generation to generation. Her biological family have psychical disorders and Her mother has Bipolar, suicide thoughts. She has been raped and also wanted to do things to hurt others because they did to her. Her whole family tried of killing thereself. In this case, this young girl should have the life I feel she should have got lesser sentences. I feel the system is all messed up with minors and they need to learn when a juvenile is clearly telling the truth and didn’t mean what she did from the ones that didn’t care

On June 25, 2012, the Supreme Court had ruled that juveniles who committed a crime such as murder, could not be sentenced to life in prison because it is violating the Eighth Amendment's ban on cruel and unusual punishment. In the supreme court decision, I agree that it is harsh and should not be allowed for a minor to serve life in prison, even if murder is committed. The decision is agreeable due to the severe punishment on someone young whose life is ruined over the decision they made. The information on a minor is misleading it masks a juvenile as a brutal killer is society's eyes. These statements should be brought to the people who are disagreeing with the court decision, and prove that these minors do not deserve an adult sentence with life in prison.…

    Andrea Yates trial

WSWS news described this whole trial as a “terrible miscarriage of justice” and I couldn’t agree more. Her husband new she was ill, and mentally not stable, why would you trust her with their children. In my opinion To me the law is very “black and White” meaning If you break the law, you break the law if you didn’t you didn’t. Simple as that, Andrea Yates should have been convicted of murder, all 5 counts. In the state of Texas a person can be found insane if, because of mental illness he/she does not know the crime is wrong. Let’s just say that Andrea Yates for a fact did not know that what she did was wrong, why would she call her husband tell him to come home? Why did she call 911? I don’t know about you guys but when I call 911 is not to tell them good news, it is because something is WRONG. Andrea murdered all her five children, But prosecutors held back two of the five charges so they could try her again, resulting in her being not convicted of murder. Why would the state try her again if the evidence is so clear? They should also let Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, and John Wayne Gacy walk free on account that they were mentally ill too. In my opinion this case has all the sign of premeditated murder, yeah she might have been mentally ill but it doesn’t excuse the fact that 5 innocent children’s life’s are now gone and the…

Which now the teenager has been sentenced to three life sentences in prison. He is not the only one dealing with teenage killer crimes but there are about 1,300 cases nationally that have sentenced teenagers as an adult to life in prison. Therefore many people wish to lower down the offender's culpability just because of their age. Once this story had reached the public many statements and opinions started to circle around: Many people felt that a 30 year sentence was too short. They took a life so they should spend the rest of theirs in a cell. The boy’s biological father said that he wanted to kill his ex-partner and that he didn’t know how someone could be so cruel and horrible to such an innocent child. With the child abuse/neglect proven in the court of law, we see that the actions taken by Casey prove that she made poor choices as a mother in the care of her child (Williams & Arrigo, 2012). There was a question about the stability of Casey with her mental health that could have led her to not only abuse/neglect her child, but also to murder her child, and attempt to make claims of sexual assault by her father (Williams & Arrigo, 2012). The jury in the case heard all of the evidence first hand and was also able to have the environment of the trial with them during the process of the trial. I think that the jury was in the best place to determine guilt or innocents in this case. The jury found Casey Anthony not guilty to the death of her daughter, and I must trust in them to have the judgment to the detriment that guilt. I do not think that guilt was proven that Casey killed her daughter…

In the state of Wisconsin, crimes of attempted first-degree intentional homicide are supposed to be tried in adult court which has a sentence of sixty-five years, but the lawyers are attempting to get the case moved to juvenile court instead which could be a sentence of only three years for each before being released. While being detained the judged ordered two different doctors to evaluate the girls to see if they had any mental illness. Morgan was then diagnosed with early onset schizophrenia but Anissa was deemed sane, however, both girls were deemed competent to stand trial. As of today, the courts have remained firm on their decision to try the girls in adult court. There are so many ways in which this case defies normal odds and that is why it brings mixed emotions on how to handle the situation. It is because of the outlandish circumstances surrounding the case, media outlets frame the case…

Jarad was an interesting case. Jarad was charged with attempted murder. He shot at a female and left her paralyzed. He ended up getting 120 years at a young age of 16. I think with him being so young his case could have been handled differently. I think when it comes to our courts, we should do better with dealing with teens. I think instead of giving juveniles life sentences at such a young age we should start to work with the teens to rehabilitate he/she. In Jarad case I think the courts should have took a look into Jared's background. At the very young age of 12 Jarad witnessed his dead attempt to take his life. His father repeatedly stabbed himself in the backyard why Jared stood and watched. This can take a toll on a kids mine. I also…

Many people around the nation have different views on the subject of juvenile justice. Some believe that despite the children's age, they should still be tried as an adult if a serious crime is committed. On the other hand, some believe children should not be tried as adult even if they commit a rather serious crime. I firmly that these children should not be sentenced to life in prison despite the serious crime that they have committed and should have another shot at life when their brain is fully developed.…

The judicial system was created to protect and hold stability in society which is why two systems were put in place, the juvenile system and the adult system. However, recently the boundaries for these two systems are growing weaker as serious juvenile offenders are getting tried in adult court. Juveniles are not authorized to drink alcohol, sign a document, gamble at a casino or vote till they are an adult. Regardless to the crime they have committed, a juvenile is a juvenile and an adult is an adult, therefore sixteen year olds should not be tried in adult court. Sixteen year olds being tried in adult court is wrong because they are able to effectively reform, their brains are not sufficiently developed and they are vulnerable to adult prisons.…

At first glance, I questioned what the teenager could have done to deserve to be tried as an adult in court. I cannot tell whether you support the action of the prosecuting team or not.
