I started my research by learning about the History of the Coast Guard. The official date that the Coast Guard started was August 4, 1790. The creator of our nation’s Coast guard is Alexander Hamilton. The First Congress of the United States established the Coast Guard. “This newly formed maritime force did not have an official name.
