Doug Jackson, currently executive assistant to President and Chief Operating Officer Doug Daft, will succeed Don Knauss as president of the Southern Africa Division. As announced separately today, Mr. Knauss will become president and chief executive officer of The Minute Maid Company. Mr. Jackson joined the Coca-Cola system in 1984 in South Africa, where he held a number of sales and management roles before moving to the Middle East office in Windsor, England, in 1993. In 1995, he was named region manager for Egypt, based in Cairo. In 1998, he joined the Middle & Far East Group, now the Asia Pacific Group, as Group vice president and executive assistant to Doug Daft.
John Guarino, currently region manager for the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia, based in Bahrain, will become president of the Middle East & North Africa Division, replacing Don Short, who today was named president, Africa & Middle East Group. Mr. Guarino joined the Company in April 1997. Prior to that, he worked 15 years with the Philip Morris Companies Inc., including leading operations in 60 countries in the Levant and Africa.
Both Mr. Jackson and Mr. Guarino will report to Don Short, as will Brendan Harris, who assumed responsibility for the Northern Africa Division as of January 1.

Alex von Behr, currently region manager with responsibility for Malaysia and Singapore, will succeed Don Short as president of the India Division, and will report to Sandy Allan,
